Five Olives — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

We went to Five Olives last night. Here our feedback.

FOOD A quick background regarding our feedback - We ate only breakfast this day and some garlic bread for lunch. We wanted to eat real nice for dinner and we found Five Olives. Unfortunately my dad got very sick over night because of food poisoning from a sea food dish that he ate at Five Olives. My mom and I ate a pizza, which was really nice. My mom felt good and I felt a little unwell in my stomach afterwards but nothing too bad. It is really disappointing that you are going to a restaurant that has top reviews but you get very very sick if you choose the wrong dish.

SERVICE Super kind, very lovely, and insanely quick. Felt just a tiny bit like they wanted us to leave quickly to make room for the next guests. But they were incredibly kind and speak English quite well. Toilets were not clean and toilet paper was missing. This really needed a lot more attention.

ATMOSPHERE They had a DJ that night which made it feel special. Music was a little loud but nothing really to complain about. It helped to reduce the noise from other guests.

Overall it is a lovely restaurant with beautiful staff members. I hope this review will help people to choose wisely...

It seems to be the norm that any ethnic restaurant outside of Thai food charges about triple to dine there

We had the smoked salmon Pizza and I don't believe the salmon was smoked it was just Raw it was very good the crust was very good

We also had the house salad that was average and a plate of muscles that was again just average

The red wine was very good but the portions were tiny they were barely a quarter of a glass at 250 Baht per glass was pretty pricey

The service was lacking. They rarely came around and saw to our needs it was only when the meal was almost finished that they brought more napkins. It was the first time I've been to an Italian restaurant where they didn't provide cloth lap napkins. As Messy as pasta can be it's almost a requirement

The Latte I ordered was subpar and they even charged for water

The decor was very Bland I felt like I was in the library and especially for a newer restaurant you think it would be a little more modern. There wasn't any wall hangings

The restroom was strangely designed for men and women combined

The parking was adequate as there were not that...

REALTALK: the 5 Olives are currently rank #34 in the top 50 Pizza Asia pacific in 2024. My girlfriend and me visited #4 of the Top Pizza Asia in Hong Kong (Fiata) almost 2 weeks ago.

To our surprise, we realize that the five olives are superior in every way to the better ranked pizzeria in Hong Kong.

The pizza here in Phuket is a taste sensation and makes it clear why the five olives are among the best pizza places in Asia.

We also had risotto which was cooked to perfection and would definitely deserve a Michelin star. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu and we were not disappointed here either. All the ingredients here are perfectly balanced and the chef knows what he is doing. Simply outstanding.

The price-performance level is reasonable and the ambience invites you to linger. The service is excellent in every way. Keep it up :)

We will definitely be back and hope that the Five Olives will finally get their deserved place in the top 10 in the rating of the best 50 Asia Pacific...
