BARTELS Bang Tao - Sourdough Sandwiches, Coffee & Juicery — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

If there was an option to rate a place over 5 stars, this spot would definitely get a 10/10!

Starting from the modern & calm design, through the super kind service and of course the quality & taste of the food, everything is just on point here.

We stopped by for a quick coffee, but when we saw the sweet pastries we just had to have one so we went for their recommended pastry filled with raspberry cream. When I opened it, it was literally oozing the cream, which surprisingly wasn't too sweet, and we loved every bite of it.

We had such a good experience so we decided to come for breakfast the following day, and this one exceeded our already high expectations. We ordered a smashed avocado open toast, and it was soooo delicious. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, and the spicy chilli crunch oil that it was served with on the size gave an amazing kick to every bite. We also ordered their gone green smoothie bowl, where they allow you to choose your own toppings (up to 5) - it was so tasty, although its size was quite small considering the price.

For drinks we had a green goddess coldpressed juice (made from celery, broccoli, spinach, cucumber, lime, ginger & red apple) that was super refreshing and it felt so healthy opening our morning drinking it.

Lastly, after the amazing pastry we had the day before, we knew we had to try another thing from their sweet section, so this time we went for the carrot cake that looked so good. The cake itself was super moist, the kind that melts in your mouth, and the cream cheese it was topped with (as well as between the cake layers) was so creamy and the combination of the two created the perfect bite.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this review, if you're looking for a cafe that has it all, this would be a safe choice - 10/10 on...

Highly recommend this little gem in Phuket 🏝️ The ambience is absolutely gorgeous, clean and calming. It’s the kind of place you can easily spend a slow morning or an afternoon catch-up. 😍

I had the avocado scrambled eggs on sourdough and WOW! It was incredible. The flavours were rich and balanced, and the sourdough was so fresh (baked in house!), you could literally taste the difference. I also tried one of their fruit pastries which had a delicious custard cream filling light, sweet, and totally satisfying.

The coconut iced latte was another win. Smooth, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweetness.

The only thing I didn’t personally enjoy was the açaí bowl 😕 the toppings felt a bit overwhelming, and halfway through it became a bit much I couldn't finish it. But that’s just personal preference!

If I had to give one small piece of feedback, it would be the service. The staff were professional, but the energy felt a bit robotic. In a place this lovely with such great food, a warmer, more personable touch would really elevate the entire experience.

That said I would absolutely return and highly recommend Bartels to anyone visiting Phuket. Beautiful space, amazing food, and a nice space to sit on your laptop or...

The grilled tuna sandwich made me speechless. It was that good. I’ve tried a lot of sandwiches places in my time. Joe & the juice tuna melts in London was always for me the best and my go to. However, now I have to say this is the best tuna melt I have every tried.

The sourdough bread is amazing. Haven’t tried any of their pastries/bakery but will definitely go back again to try more things. The iced latte was also really good, smooth and creamy. Very clean and modern place. I noticed the staff cleaning throughly and they take pride in ensuring high standards and quality.

All the staff their speak very good English and communicate well. Very switched on and friendly. The young lady who serves the food is genuinely nice and always smiling. I highly recommend this place! You won’t be disappointed I promise.

Edited: Came back again to try açai bowl, minty melon, açai smoothie & grilled cheese sandwich. I can definitely confirm that this place is top quality. You can chose you own toppings for the açai bowl (up-to 5 toppings). Staff here are amazing once again! Breads are made fresh in store in a separate clear glass...
