In connection with the conflict between Russia and ukraine, Phuket, Thailand is one of the most popular direction for tourists from the mentioned countries. The longer you are in a country far from home, the more you miss your country cuisine. This is why Phuket is the best place for this restaurant to be. As a Russian citizen, I can fully confirm similarity between our national cuisine and what I have eaten there. The menu contains both classic Russian/ukranian dishes and some exotic dishes such as pelmeni with Crocodile meat (which have no less exquisite taste). Taste really gives you a feeling of belonging and the comfort of home. Interior is on its highest level. There are portraits of Emperors from Russian Empire and other historical figures. This “historical” atmosphere lets visitors understand that even dishes they try have a long history. The terrace is well designed too. However the management of the restaurant should consider installing a better condition system: air inside is a bit stuffy. A woman sang during our course and her beautiful voice was broadcastet from all speakers and we couldn’t hear each other. It would have been a perfect performance, if the sound had been quieter. Service didn’t really differ from other Thai restaurants, however there was a Russian speaker, who escorted everyone to their place. It was obvious that it was hard for him to keep track of everything what was going on, but he was doing well. Having a person who speaks your native language makes everything much easier in the region where people don’t really speak English. Overall this place is a good choice to have a dinner. You will not be dissatisfied or disappointed for sure. But those minor drawbacks that I described don’t allow me to rate d’ODESSA 5 stars. If google allowed me to rate 4,5 stars, I would have rated it. But, unfortunately, there is no...
Read moreWell, what can I say - not everything is as bad as people say in some reviews. The food is quite normal, and the dumplings are even good. It's rather strange that the food is absolutely not salty, and the fat is not salty, but boiled, but this is, perhaps, the vision of the chef and a matter of taste. The price tag, especially for beer, is quite high, which leads us to conclude that the price / quality ratio is not the best. And, of course, the waiting time is also quite long. Of all the Russian/Ukrainian restaurants in Phuket, this is definitely the most pleasant interior, but you can eat better Russian/Ukrainian food for a better price in other places. In general, it is quite possible to visit once, but only if you are living close and ready to listen to chanson (what a strange choice) in parallel...
Read moreNot worth visiting… I never mind and rather happy to pay extra for the up to the standard service and delicious food. Just to get an idea rice porridge is priced at 350 Bhat, draniki breakfast is 380 Bhat. I get curious and excited about added value to this simple dishes. expectations get high. Imagine the disappointment when my husband gets a nice plate and I get the same dish but for some reason with half of the sausages (did someone have a bite before me???) and dranik was half the size! Outrages. Also the staff does not speak English. When i addressed my issue the waiter was openly unhappy. No excuses were offered. Tbh if staff were polite i could get it slide… conclusion: overpriced and rude. Unpleasant experience. On the...
