Atara Sky Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Chon Buri Province

Before leaving Thailand, we decided to try the hotel rooftop resturant (Atara Sky). It had good views and good service. Food is okay. Poorly managed.

Nobody knew about our reservation; we had asked for a table with views and ended up with an inside table. We needed to look for the table ourselves.

Based on a promotional display inside the hotel lobby, we asked for a 10% hotel guest discount. The display was in the lobby from the day we checked in. But when we asked for the discount, nobody knew anything about it, and we ended up paying for the full price bill.

We asked the main dining room manager about a refund the next morning; he was very apologetic and promised to raise the matter with the Atara Sky manager. We never heard back from the Atara Sky manager, but the promotional display disappeared by the following morning.

We asked again, via the hotel front desk staff, on the third afternoon. They called the Atara Sky manager, who refused the refund, despite the fact that we showed a picture of the discount brochure. Again, we did not hear from the Atara Sky manager, who left it up to the front desk staff to call us with the bad news.

The restaurant is not honest with its customers. We have no desire to ever return and or recommend anyone we knew to come to this place.

We left the hotel without ever getting that refund. We no longer care about getting the refund for ourselves; we would actually be more happy to have the money go to the main dining hall manager and the hotel front desk staff, as they actually tried to be helpful. Also, they were all placed on the spot and forced to apologize for someone else's decision; the Atara Sky manager apparently did not have the sense of responsibility or the moral courage to deliver bad...

The location is outside at the very top of the building. If you’re acrophobic, eat in the lobby. I always looking for spicy dishes and two of them were very nice, though I do have a much higher heat index. The Spring Roll came out hot with a dipping sauce. The Prawn salad had good flavor. The chili peppers added bit. The main entree was the Sea Bass and it was ok. I didn’t taste any additional flavors cooked with the fish. Very tabula rasa. The Sriracha sauce was tasty. Absolutely fabulous rooftop bar by the coast. Incredible view from the 48th floor. DJ plays very cool eclectic mix of tunes, the kitchen delivers stellar meals - they both look brilliant and taste divine. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. Together it adds up to a 5 star venue that I'll certainly be visiting the next time I'm in town :-) I particular shout out to Baefern who went above and beyond making this old lunatic feel welcome!
