Thai food that more than sea food. Praneat: Refined Thai Dining in Na Chom Thian Praneat is a striking Thai restaurant located right on the main road in Na Chom Thian, offering extensive indoor parking. While the surrounding area is dominated by pure seafood joints, Praneat stands out with its diverse menu of meticulously plated Thai dishes, placing it in the mid-to-high price range. They offer well-priced set menus; we enjoyed Set B for 770 Baht. We were first served a welcome drink of sweet and sour pineapple juice that was incredibly refreshing, complete with fine shreds of pineapple to assure you it’s fresh and not boxed. This was served with a unique side of thinly battered and fried Cha-plu leaves. Set Menu Highlights Som Tum Thai: The papaya strips were large and perfectly crisp. Served alongside two baskets of sticky rice that was soft, had a great texture, and was not mushy. Tom Saep Moo Orn (Spicy Sour Soup with Young Pork Ribs): This arrived dramatically in a metal bowl heated by fire underneath. It contained a generous amount of tender young pork ribs, and the broth had a perfectly balanced sour kick. Kai Yang Praneat (Grilled Chicken): The portion was substantial, and the chicken meat was tender. Lap Ped (Duck Larb): The duck meat was very finely minced (making it hard to discern the texture), but importantly, it had no trace of a gamey duck odor. This restaurant is highly suitable for dining with family or friends, though be mindful that the overall bill can...

Mine was really plain, with no salt added, so I asked for salt to add on myself. I think they were just cautious and unsure of what they could add so just made it completely plain so I don’t fault them. My partner loved his regular crab meat fried rice though.
The price was really affordable, and they also give you complimentary nettle leaves as a starter snack and a shot of pineapple juice. Would...
Read moreThe signature crab curry was indeed well made. Very addictive with rice. Though we were quite blown away with the pomelo shrimp salad. Not only was it well presented, the taste was unique too. Large shrimps with fried coconut and onion shavings, crunchy cashew nuts, with juicy sweet pomelo in tamarind sauce, to be wrapped at your own leisure in betel nut leaves. If you want to try the popular local raw shrimp sashimi, this is well made. The shrimps are sweet and fresh, served with aromatic spicy chilli dip and raw veg. Im not a fan of bitter gourd but the complimentary slices makes an...
