this is my third time here and i never sat at the same table. this time outside.
mind you, if you have not tried it yet, hurry up before they shutdown for 3 months (starting June 1).
i always ordered rib-eye steak here (250g), well-done, but this time i tries medium-well, and i was not disappointed. Phum and Sonny are the owners, and you never leave their sight. they welcome you even during the late evening as their first customer.
even though i am used to WD doneness, the med-well was great: fresh, tasty and chewable. a bowl full of french fries was served as extra (because i had the veggies next to my steak).
every piece of the vegetable was tasty amd fresh. you could notice they pick it carefully. the mushroom sauce was so good that i poured it right on my steak.
everything was served super hot straight from the grill.
right at the end of my feast i asked phun for a spoon to "drink" the juice from my plate (olive oil, mushroom sauce), and i said that in restaurants where i really enjoyed the food, i drink out of the plate/bowl, but i was afraid it will be rude. due to her reaction i asked her to take back the spoon and drank out of the plate until it was dry and clean.
while waiting for your order you can look around and see how they designed the place and behold the professional grill.
wonderful experience from every aspect, even if you eat...
Read moreFirst off, the food was great... the ribeye cooked perfectly medium-rare, the spaghetti with oil and garlic a perfect side dish with it. I also ordered the coleslaw and the mixed green salad for some fiber. I have to say, the mixed green salad was fantastic - with cucumbers and radishes. But the star was definitely the lettuce itself - and the steak also came with some of that. Amazingly crunchy and fresh lettuce!!! Now, the service took the rating down, in case you are wondering. The server was a bit challenging to order with, she stood on the other side of the fairly big table so I think she had a hard time hearing me rather than coming around the table to stand next to me so I could point at the menu. Also, I requested some wine ... which is mentioned on the menu, but without much detail or prices. She said they only have one red wine and brought me a glass without telling me what it is. The wine was good and I had three glasses, only to find out that it was 340 Baht per glass which is super pricey for Thailand. For that price, I would have at least liked to see the bottle to understand what I was drinking. And then the Tiramisu was great ... a very traditional version. So, so close to being a...
Read moreMaybe I visited on an off night but I cannot fathom the positive food reviews for this place. Was drooling at the menu and wanted to love it - great service, nice ambiance, but disappointing food. Ordered the mixed grill platter, which comes with a pork steak, a pork chop, some ribs, a sausage, slaw and veggie kebab. Steak and chop were way off - dry, hard, and a chore to force down. The rib portion I received was end of rib flap-meat that really should've been trim. It appeared to be pressure cooked and was slathered in sweet ketchupy sauce, so don't get your hopes up for low and slow or smoked ribs at this place. The sausage (i.e. a hotdog, for the americans out there) was the most edible part of the meal as it required minimal interference from the cooks. Nothing on the plate was actually pleasant to eat, and all for ~800 baht. The staff was super friendly and the service was great but if the quality of the food is like this, whats the point? Cannot recommend...
