Kamala Beergarden — Restaurant in Kamala

This was one of my favourite bars I visited in Thailand. When I next go to Phuket (which I hope is sooner rather than later), I'll definitely come back here!

My boyfriend and I came here to watch some sports, and we went back several more times for the drinks, conversation and overall good vibes. We really enjoyed the Thai food, but they offer plenty of Western dishes if you prefer.

One night, we participated in the pool tournament and had loads of fun (even though we were terrible compared to the other competitors). The staff are all Thai women who seem to be enjoying their jobs and have a good rapport with the owner, Gregg.

Gregg himself is impossibly friendly, always ready to make you feel welcome and up for a chat. There are many ex-pats and other regulars who are all friendly and clearly love the place, and it's nice to be in such a comfortable environment despite being in a foreign country.

The location is conveniently near everything else that you want - restaurants, live music and beaches. Before going out adventuring, we always started our night here. Had a great time at Kamala Beergarden. After a couple of games of pool and a few nice cold happy hour beers we left for dinner without my backpack. Didn't even realise until this morning and contacted the owner via chat as we are flying home today. He went above and beyond to ask his staff even though they were sleeping. Gave me the good news and organised me to collect the bag on the way to the airport. The pool tables were great, service very friendly wished we had tried the food but only discovered Kamala Beergarden on our last day. Great bar with a great owner Gregg. Wonderful dude who cares about all his staff and his customers experience at the bar. With great weekly roast chicken and BBQ plate specials and the best menu in kamala!! Check out the BBQ chicken pizza or the monster bacon cheese Berger. Sports for all tastes and Gregg always willing to put your favorite team on the TV. The beer is kept on ice so it's deliciously frosty. What ever your cocktail pleasure the staff is on it.
