Soul Kitchen — Restaurant in Kamala

Thought we would try this place because we were tired of the same food every night at our own hotel nearby.

We had the choice of buffet or ala carte.

There were zero vegetarian options in the buffet, so I ordered Pad Thai from the ala carte menu, which tasted good. My wife and kids had the buffet. The food my children ate looked very low quality. Very oily fried food. They didn't like any of it. My wife liked the spicy Thai soups and noodles.

The service was terrible. Took 5 minutes for a glass of water. I was waiting for my dessert for 20 minutes and I don't know where all the restaurant staff disappeared too. When I found someone and asked about my dessert, it turns out they forgot to tell the cook. It then appeared 5 minutes later.

The roof was leaking and dripping water on my head (inside the restaurant).

Inside the restaurant does not resemble the google pics. The furniture is a mix of old wooden tables and 1970 chairs. Looks horrible. I felt 'Soulless" would be a more apt name for the restaurant

4.4 During our stay in Phuket, we decided to dine at Soul Kitchen one evening simply because we didn't want to venture far from the hotel. What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be!

The views from the outdoor seating area were truly spectacular, especially during sunset. It added an extra layer of magic to our dining experience. As for the food, we were delighted by the offerings. Every dish we ordered was well-prepared and flavorful, and the service was top-notch.

I don't leave much 5 star reviews but the food here is unexpectedly awesome. Never thought a 4* hotel restaurant would serve such good food. The tomato basil soup and salmon steak are highlights.
