I would give it zero stars if the location was bad. The location is nice but the service and quality of the food is horrible. We ordered spring rolls as an appetizer but these turned out to be the worst spring rolls we had ever had. They had no vegetables in them what so ever, they tasted like dough... We then ordered fried shrimps and fruit salad as a main course. The fried shrimps were served cold and the fruit had no taste to it what so ever. They even managed to mess up the drinks. The Pepsi that we ordered was not even cold and the glass it came with had no ice. When I asked if I coule have ice in my glass it took such a long time that I almost finished my drink before it came. The staff speaks no English (we don't expect a fluent english speaking person but we have been in Thailand for 4 weeks now and this is the first time that we could not describe what we wanted). The tables are huge which makes dining as a couple or small family (3 persons) feel like you are all alone. The food was expensive as well compared to other places around. We ate similar meals for more than half the price, but a lot better quality. I would avoid this place, thai people seem to like it but we have no...
Read moreFor me the best restaurant in Kanchanaburi. Simple... every time I come to Kanchanaburi, THIS place is a MUST DO for dinner. Food is amazing, waitresses and waiters are amazing, location is amazing. All the welcome, the good food, good service... you can find is just all in one at this restaurant. I go there for dinner since many years and I know that whoever I go there with, will be amazed... Family, friends, work.... It's just amazing. See you soon !!! Only one thing is about the live band... why putting these 2 musicians- singers, far away from customers??? They are really good but 99.99 % of patrons do not see them but they are real, not a radio or whatever Internet music. They just perform good ⁸music, good voices but nobody seems to see them. There are so many little spaces around restaurant they could perform and at least have recognition from customers. This is the only 0++ I will give to this place. All is perfect there, except the place live musicians- singers have. Before leaving after this amazing dinner, I went to talk to them to tell them that they are good, but haven't the good place. Tomorrow I will go back to there just to try to explain my point of view with...
Read moreWe were attracted to eating here as we saw pictures of dining by the River Kwai. However, it was raining when we went and it was dark already. So there wasn't much of a view.
The food was delicious and kudos to the chefs working behind the scenes. The food was prepared quite quickly and we didn't have to wait long for the food to be served. They also made sure to use an umbrella to shield the dishes from the drizzle when they brought it down to serve it to us on the deck.
The only gripe we had was that the level we were seated at was very poorly lit and there was only 1 tealight candle provided when the food was served. When looking through the menu, we had to use the torchlight on our phones to see. The 1 candle did not help very much and we were dining in the dark. It really dampened the dining experience. We couldn't see the food in front of us clearly.
There were a lot of trainee staff who appeared to be young teenagers and they weren't very proactive despite seeing us struggle using our phones to see. Not sure if this was meant to create a romantic ambience, but it just didn't...
