I am just going to say what happened so people can make their own conclusions. Every day (since the beginning of our vacation) the 4 of us had breakfast at our hotel and dinner at our friend's restaurant in the city. The night we got sick, we had lunch at Barefoot Bistro & Bar at Freedom beach. Out of 4 people, only 3 of us ate from their food and EXACTLY those 3 got sick. It must be a very bad coincidence. Also, I have made a video which I cannot attach here unfortunately (google accepts only photos) but video shows how 6 employees are preparing 2 burgers. Very slow and not organized. The burger buns were left out in the open along with the lettuce and tomatoes on them while waiting for the meat to fry and in the mean time so many flies got on them. Yes, the employees had masks and hair net but no gloves. While waiting, me and my mother in law made a comment how dirty and disgusting the kitchen looks like and she said "oh, what do you think ..... that other restaurants here are different ? It's the same, we just don't see it because the kitchens are hidden". Just be very careful where you eat in Thailand and read blogs and reviews on cases (sometimes death) from food poisoning. I read them after it happened to me, read it before it happens to you and be cautious so you can fully enjoy your vacation. Also, buy travel insurance :) A good note and hence the 2 stars: the burger was in fact delicious. Don't forget that 5 star includes many things such as service, price for the quality and compared to other similar restaurants, comfort and cleanliness, wait...
