My experience at Blue Ocean Restaurant and Bar in Phuket was unfortunately quite disappointing. Despite being the only table in the restaurant, it took an unusually long time for the staff to take our order and an equally extended period for our food to arrive. This lack of prompt service was rather surprising and did impact our overall dining experience.
To our dismay, the food itself fell short of expectations. The dishes were watery and lacked the vibrant flavors we had come to associate with authentic Thai cuisine. Even the usually delightful mango sticky rice turned out to be a letdown – overcooked and excessively salty. It was disheartening to see the decline in quality compared to our previous culinary experiences elsewhere.
Adding to our frustration, obtaining a menu became an arduous task that eventually led us to get it ourselves, specifically for ordering the mango sticky rice. The staff's presence at the front desk while eating and smoking, especially in the direction of my asthmatic child, was not only inconsiderate but also quite unsettling.
As a further inconvenience, the additional 3% charge for card payment was unexpected and not in line with our experiences at other establishments.
In conclusion, my visit to Blue Ocean Restaurant and Bar left much to be desired. While I understand the need for constructive feedback, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of service quality, food preparation, and overall guest experience. I hope these aspects can be addressed to ensure a more positive dining experience for...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Blue Ocean Restaurant, and I am still dreaming about the meal! As a fan of both Indian cuisine and fresh seafood, I was thrilled to find a place that excels at both.
The flavors were absolutely incredible. Every dish we ordered was prepared with such care and authenticity. The spices were perfectly balanced—aromatic and flavorful without being overwhelming. The seafood was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection.
We tried the butter chicken, which was rich and creamy, and the garlic naan was soft and delicious. But the real stars were the seafood dishes. The grilled fish tikka was moist and flaky, and the prawn curry was a revelation—spicy, tangy, and utterly addictive.
The service was also top-notch; the staff was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu.
Overall, Blue Ocean Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning soon to try more...
Read moreWe dined at the Blue ocean yesterday. The waiters wouldnt clean up the dirty plates, empty plastic bottles (that kept flying around due to wind) until you insistedly call them couple of times. The restaurant wasnt packed with the clients. So we sat with the dirty plates for quite long.
Tom yum was quite different from all the other places we've been to. Usually it is quite rich, full of prawns and other ingredients. Here you can see from the photo what it looked like. Scarcely anything apart from lemongrass and 1 or 2 prawns.
Also, the music was quite loud, the space feels tight, the portions are of small size, the waiters are inefficient...
