The Jungle Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Karon

I found this small restaurant in google and brought my family here because of the high score 4.9. It took us around 10-12 minutes by tuktuk to get here from Kata high street. We booked a table for 11 people in advance but it wasn’t crowded at all. There are like 5-6 tables? So it’s tiny and perfect if you want to get away from the loud high street, crowded restaurants, and people in general. The menu is great - we’ve ordered tom yum, pad thai, two kinds of tempura shrimps, steamed fish in lemon juice, fried calamari, and fried onions - everything was GREAT. Super delicious. Pineapple shake was simply divine. A big shout-out to the chef and team - there were only 4 women and a small boy, a chef’s son. They served and cooked for our big company as well for two other smaller companies. Highly recommend. The location is lit too. In one word... Stunning! The best place we've eaten in in Thailand (that's at the end of our 2 weeks' holiday!). From the moment we got in we felt at home:) everyone there is so sweet, funny and friendly, very informal, just our kind of place. The owner saw me watch her making our papaya salad and invited me to watch her from up close and went through all the steps with me. Amazing experience and that was even before we got our food:) and the food was amazing, we got steamed fish, seafood pad Thai and papaya salad. Well the experience here starts with the lovely staff at The jungle restarant. It carrys through to the wonderful atmosphere of the Jungle with the Andaman sea peaking through the trees in the distance. As for the food, what a delight, everything presented well with the finishing touches that make you smile before you even taste the absolutely delicious food. Chel and her team do an amazing job and make you feel so very welcome here. We walked from our hotel near the beach and intend to go back again before we leave.
