Title: Disappointing Stay at Princess Seaview Resort & Spa - Needs Significant Improvement
I recently stayed at the Princess Seaview Resort & Spa, booked via MakeMyTrip, and was let down by numerous aspects of the experience which considerably impacted our holiday.
Firstly, room service was nearly non-existent. Requests either took ages to be addressed or were completely ignored. Communication was a major issue as well; a significant language barrier existed between the staff and us, making simple requests challenging.
Our departure experience was particularly disheartening. Despite confirming a packed breakfast the night before our early checkout, we received a scanty meal of a few pieces of fruit instead of the promised sandwiches and juices. This was not a great start to our day of travel.
Accessing our room was cumbersome, requiring the use of two separate lifts, which felt very inconvenient, especially after long days out exploring. The overall ambiance of the hotel was more reminiscent of a dormitory rather than the luxurious resort portrayed in the promotional materials. Moreover, despite its name, the resort does not offer sea views, which was a major disappointment.
Location-wise, the hotel is impractically positioned. It is far from Karon Beach and even further from Patong Beach, with each trip costing between 700 to 800 baht one way. This isolation extends to its distance from the city, limiting access to local attractions and dining options, which is particularly inconvenient for tourists.
For Indian travelers, the food options were insufficient, lacking variety and not catering well to Indian tastes, which could be problematic for those seeking familiar cuisine.
In conclusion, the Princess Seaview Resort & Spa did not meet our expectations in numerous crucial areas, ranging from service to location. Future guests might consider looking elsewhere to ensure a more enjoyable and hassle-free...
Read moreOn arrival the hotel looked lovely, our room was very clean & spacious with what appeared to be a super king size bed, large bathroom with separate bath & shower. What is misleading is the photos used on their website to what you actually get. It’s my belief that the photos date back to when the hotel was originally opened. The pictures of our room were accurate if you exclude the red coloured runners on the beds, towel displays & flowers. The beds are very firm & we found them painfull to sleep on. The pool bar didn’t open until midday, it lacked atmosphere as there was no background music, the drinks were basic & they didn’t sell snacks/ice cream etc. The sunbeds were basic black beds with no padding, approx 20 beds in total & 6 parasol for a hotel that has 152 rooms. However, beds were always available as no one really used it. (Probably due to lack of facilities). The main restaurant on the roof top was closed for renovation but this was not disclosed at the time of booking. The breakfast had a lot of choice but the hot food was cold. The downstairs restaurant tables were never dressed with tablecloths on an evening as seen in website photos & very few guests dined there. All staff had limited to very little English language. The reception staff always had a smile but the others serving breakfast or working the pool bar very rarely smiled, made eye contact or interacted & appeared very miserable in their roles. During our 14 night stay we didn’t come across any other English residents & the majority of nationals appeared to be Russians. This hotel may have been a 4* originally but I would only give it a 2* in its present condition. Probably an ideal short stay hotel but not a great place for a 7/14 night holiday.||I have added photos from website to photos taken 27/03/2025 ...
Read moreThe hotel is nice. A bit old, but good value for money. ||Rooms: very big and bright, cleaned every day, double bed is comfortable. There is everything you need there including mini fridge, hair dryer, kettle and so on. I’d recommemd to get a room on the top floor with the seaview, otherwise you may end up in a room facing the wall. In those with the seaview you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets.||Staff: nice, smiley, friendly enough, attentive to needs. I didn’t encounter any troubles.||Food: breakfasts were nice, plenty to choose from. But once or twice fried eggs and veggies seemed not fresh. Easily solved - asked for freshly cooked scramble eggs instead. Croissant were yummy. ||Location: the hotel is in the second street from the beach. You need to walk about 10-12 mins to get there. Part of the road goes along the highway. I don’t mind walking but it could be tough on elderly or kids, especially walking up the hill. |All the major facilities are also 5-7 mins walk away (7/11; exchange, cafes and restaurants, fruit stalls, laundry etc.)||Although my room was facing the main road it was very quiet with balcony doors closed. Actually two times I stayed there it was a low season and the number of visitors was very little. I hardly saw people and it was deathly quiet during evening which was exactly what I was looking for. Awesome for relaxation. Not sure about the high...
