CARROTS Vegan Kitchen — Restaurant in Khlong Tan Nuea Subdistrict

This place didn't allow my previous negative review to be publicly shown, but damn if I don't exercise my right to express my honest opinion. I have to say I'm very disheartened by today's delivery experience. Despite having enjoyed ordering food from Carrots numerous times, I will not do so again going forward.

It took the restaurant almost an hour to cook the food. I can't fathom any place staying in business with such an excruciatingly long wait time, but here we are. Even if the place was busy right at opening time (which I doubt), I communicated and put in my order the night before, so it was the restaurant's responsibility to properly allot their time, and wait time has never been an issue previously. Moreover, I requested for the food to be delivered at the earliest time possible; if almost an hour after opening is the earliest they can do, I'm truly flummoxed they've managed to stay in business this long.

The restaurant also neglected to inform me of ANY updates. I messaged them for updates after almost an hour, for them to tell me that the driver is on the way to deliver my order and only sending me the ride status link after I specifically asked for it (only to see that the driver had just left the restaurant). I'm curious as to why they failed to let me know anything without me having to ask. It's like trying to make sure a kid is doing their homework; why is it my job to chase them for scraps of information?

To top it off, THE FOOD WAS DELIVERED TO THE WRONG PLACE. This was unbelievable because I already sent the restaurant the precise location on Google Maps, and there's never previously been any problems in this regard. They already had all the information they needed yet still managed to mess up; I'd be impressed if it wasn't so mind-boggling.

You'd think this was enough blunders for one order, so imagine my surprise when I opened the delivery bags to find that the food was haphazardly packed and organized, with sauce and dressing spilling out, wetting the paper containers and creating a mess. Side note: while the food was good, overall the quality dropped and lacked consistency.

None of the aforementioned problems had ever occurred before so I'm truly concerned, but I'm not going to try my luck by...

My partner & I were looking for a healthy meal after a day of travel. We were seeking a fruitful option of eating something with good flavors and not being too heavy.

We found just the place! Carrots is a Vegan Bistro restaurant in a great location Ekamai. From other food options to choose from, your selections are encouraged.

We started off by having individual beverages. My partner got the Cappuccino. I received the Green Detox juice, made fresh daily. The juice was very refreshing after a travel day.

For the meal we shared a few entrées, first we had Tropical Greens bowl. When you think a of picture perfect smoothie bowl, this is it! Super tasty fruit for selected flavor! Could have more granola. 2nd we had the Rocca Salad. The salad was fantastic. My favorite dish. Accompanied with pomegranates, topped with quinoa, pickled onions, and butter squash! The dressing that was on the side was the ideal combination! 3rd we had the avocado smashed toast as well as the peanut butter, fruit toast. This was a combination plate. the avocado toast was accompanied with tomato, diced pico de gallo, and a balsamic vinaigrette. The peanut butter, fruit toast was accompanied with bananas, strawberries, and a bit of blueberries. 4th we share the jalapeño mac & cheese. I would say this was my least favorite dish because of the lack of cheese within the pasta noodles. I would describe this dish as pasta noodles with diced jalapeño. I would not consider this a mac & cheese dish. The noodles themselves were a little too Al Dante for my liking. With that being said it was still tasty. just not what I expected. 5th we had the handcrafted Philly mushroom ciabatta sandwich. It was a funny situation. I thought I ordered the naughty quesadilla but when I receive the ciabatta sandwich, I was not disappointed! Extremely Tasty dish. I appreciated the crunchy the ciabatta. The mushrooms were not over done. And the potato wedges were a great addition.

Been there a few times now. Have ordered too. Love this place. Consistently good. Gluten-free requirements are well understood and almost every dish can be made gluten-free. Plus, they don't charge extra if you need GF food and your food comes in the the same size as regular dishes. Everything I've tried has been delicious. Portions are perfectly sized. I've never felt uncomfortable after eating their food, which is a big accomplishment for me and my very sensitive stomach. I was already a big fan of their brownies before they opened the restaurant and now they have all these amazing gf desserts. I'm in love with the banoffee pie. The mousse au chocolat is divine. The bounty bar... The chocolate caramel cake... I wish they were in my neighbourhood so I could go every day! Owners and staff are very friendly too. Can't wait for my next meal there.

I want to add that after a few months of lockdown, Carrots has definitely become my favourite restaurant in Bangkok. Orders are always right. Food is always fantastic. They never messed up my GF order. They know not to put GF food and non GF food in the same packages. I always feel good and satisfied after eating their food. I know I can trust them completely. And I love how innovative they are. Always coming up with new dishes and desserts.

I'm editing my review again, many months later to confirm Carrots is still my favourite vegan restaurant in town. I like other restaurants too, but Carrots is the only one that has never messed up any of my orders, and I order fairly often. They communicate very clearly, and they train their staff properly. When I don't want to cook, am really hungry and don't have time to waste, I order from them because I just know I won't be disappointed and that they will never put gluten in my dishes. I look forward to the new dishes they will come up...
