Qube Suites Sukhumvit 46 — Hotel in Phra Khanong Subdistrict

There seem to be many great reviews of this place, and to be truthful some of those are why I booked this place - but it must be hit and miss with the rooms. We arrived, and had to pay a deposit of 3000bt in cash and we were asked for the full payment of 14,000bt in cash. This took a little time to sort out as we don’t carry that much cash.

We got into the room and it had just been mopped. The floor was wet with cleaning fluid so the apartment was smelling fairly fresh. Once it dried the smell was a little more stale.

I’m going to try to avoid moaning here, but give a clear overview of my experience here. I will attached up to date pictures of the place.

The sewerage from the apartment above was dripping in to our bath. There is no fan in the main bathroom, so the ceiling is mouldy and wet. This might also be from the room above. The curtains and material in the apartment were dirty. The wallpaper in each room is damp and peeling for the 6 or so inches closest to the floor. The entrance door was smashed and broken. The 2nd bathroom was covered in black mould. The wardrobe was falling to bits, as was the bedside table. The gym was infested with ants. The equipment was rusty and damp. The air on in the gym was not working. The gym floor was covered in leaves and dirt. The wooden walking surround to the swimming pool was rotten and had broken through in places. A real danger for kids. The swimming pool and gym wash area was just foul. Really rotten and just needed knocking down. The air on in the bedroom screamed like a banshee and spat out ice. The hand held shower head in the main bathroom had a needle like spike on the end where there probably used to be a plastic part to finish and prettify it. I pricked my hand on this twice. Just gross to think about the implications. The neighbours may have well bee in our apartment banging pans - there is zero soundproofing. Just plasterboard between you and them. I could go on. The owner won’t communicate with us, and we have left, still unsure if we will be refunded. Booking.com are attempting to resolve this.

I’m not one to moan - but this place is foul. It needs a major renovation. The photos they are using are obviously from when it was first built and furnished. You can’t advertise a gym just because you have a glass house that has a rubber ball and 2 weights. The ants, the mould, the leaves and the rot don’t belong in a gym. You need to be advertising an indoor garden space where we have left some gym equipment to rot.

Location is fine - they have a little buggy to take you to the main road. It’s close to W district and Ekkamai so loads of places to eat and drink.

My wife and myself together with her friend stayed for 6 nights at Qube Suites. We were glad we found Qube Suites. The apartment we got was on the 4th floor and comes standard with a Double Bed Room with ensuite bath and a Single Bed Room with the common bath room attached. So the Single Bed Room also “comes” with the ensuite bath if you lock the door access from the living room. The apartment was a nice size, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having the dining area to sit together in the evening before bedtime for a drink, some snacks and chat, or for breakfast. ||The apartment came with a washer cum dryer if you wanted to do some laundry, and for cooking, there was just the microwave and electric kettle. There are convenience stores on the other side of the nearby BTS station if you wanted to grab some quick groceries, or you could walk up away from the station if you wanted to get to the hypermart. ||The apartment provides a golf buggy to ferry guest between the BTS station and the apartment 24x7. You just have to call the number and wait for the buggy at the corner shophouse next to the stairs coming down from the BTS station exit number 3 (see photo for the shophouse and number to call). Staff can speak English and are friendly, especially the ladies staff. ||The apartment also comes with a swimming pool, a very small gym at the ground level, and bbq facilities at the roof top. Toiletries and towels were provided but not replenished daily. ||All in all, we enjoyed our stay. The cons for the stay was that it could be noisy for some as residents’ dogs seems to like communicating at night and we agree that if you stay on the lower floors activities at the ground floor might be a little noisy, but mainly we found it quieter compared to hotels in the city next to busy road traffic. ||We also felt that it would be perfect if it was a little closer to the Chitlom BTS, which we do most of our shopping. We pretty much use the BTS for our trips and if we wanted a car, we would use Grab. ||There were no housekeeping nor towel changes, or that we just did not request for it. Wifi provided seems difficult to connect. We also felt some maintenance are in order as our hand shower was not mountable as the holder was broken. ||We prepaid for the apartment, but they took a B3000 refundable cash deposit on check in. Received a call from Agoda on the arriving date and informed that our two bed room family suite for the two night was over booked and have to downgrade us to a smaller suite room. Being a hotelier myself I understand and accepted my downgrade. In the evening before my flight from Singapore to Bangkok, I received another call from Agoda, telling me the smaller suite room was also overbooked and they have booked us in to another so call “5” Star hotel nearby for one room instead our original 2 bed room family suite. I told them I’ve two kids with us and total 4 person, that’s the reason I booked a two bed room suite. Agoda insist that’s all they can do. As is already almost time for my departure I don’t have time to argue with Agoda. Upon arrival at Qube Suites I was told they have arranged us in a 2 bed room suite at Sabei Sabei hotel instead of the original so call 5 Star hotel & we have to pay for the transport charges from our Qube suites to Sabei Sabei hotel and it was no fault of us. It was like a home stay and was really terrible terrible experience. Next day I’ve to booked another hotel at Courtyard Marriot at our own additional cost. Very very bad experience in my 30 years...
