We arrived at Nico Nico Café before 3 PM, planning to enjoy some food and drinks after seeing good reviews on TripAdvisor while exploring cafés around Thonglor. However, our experience didn’t match the expectations at all.
Initially, we were going to order both food and drinks, but decided not to after a staff member informed us that the kitchen stops taking orders at 3:30 PM and the café closes strictly at 4:00 PM because staff need to leave on time. Since we had some urgent work to do, we just ordered tea and coffee and worked quietly on our laptops.
At around 3:55 PM, a staff member from the reception approached us with a noticeably moody expression, reminding us that they were closing and asking us to leave — even though we had already packed up and were just about to go. While we fully understand the importance of closing time, the way it was communicated felt cold and impolite. A more courteous approach, like offering us to move outside or simply saying it kindly, would have left a better impression.
On top of the poor service, the overall atmosphere and the taste of the drinks didn’t impress us. There was nothing particularly memorable about the place that would make us want to return, especially if we’re expected to spend money where we’re not treated with basic warmth and hospitality. None of the staff seemed welcoming or friendly during our visit.
Unfortunately, this will be our first and last time here — and we wouldn’t recommend this café to...
Read moreTried this new bakery/cafe place in Thonglor. The ambience is nice and cosy, which gave a minimalistic vibe. They offer brunch menu all day and most of the dish are japanese inspired. Tried out the Brioche Miso Caramel and Cornflake Chicken. The brioche was ah-mazing. So soft and pilowy, with mascarpone filling and elevated with the miso caramel. And the walnut topping just gave it another extra texture, which made the whole experience more enjoyable. Chefs kiss! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the cornflake chicken. It was a bit bland and the cornflakes doesn’t gave that crunchiness which was expected. Next will need to try the other main menu. Also tried out the Sparkling Good Berries. It was so good and refreshing! For my 2nd visit, tried out smiley potato, toast with mentaiko dressing, salmon ochazuke & club sandwich. All was so yummy! Especially the bread that they used, it was so soft & somewhat...
Read moreFood is good, coffee is good BUT inconsistent. What is consistent is the BAD SERVICE. We go there almost every morning and it’s the same bad service. My wife drinks coffee there almost daily so we know how their coffee taste like. When the coffee tastes off, we informed the waitress, who just make a sound and walk away. No further action or remaking the coffee. When my food arrived, the waitress just put on the next table instead of putting the food in front of me. When I asked for salt and pepper, an annoyance sound and look, five minutes later she put it again, on the table next to us. On another visit we hear customer next to our table extremely upset as his order was wrong, twice. To which the waitress eventually told him what he ordered does not exists. The customer told her to bring the menu where she was gone for 10 mins to bring the correct food he ordered!! Amateur service that let down...
