Roast accepts reservation on normal days but not on public holidays. I am not sure about weekends. I went for brunch on Vesak Day. The restaurant was full with only a queue of 4-5 people in the morning.
According to my sister has been to Australia a few time, the ambience at Roast @ The Commons is like cafes in Australia. My sister was very pleased with the ambience, service and food quality at Roast and so was I.
In our group of 8, we ordered many dishes and drinks. Here are some of the dishes we ordered
Roast Breakfast 400 baht Crab Cake Benedict 360 baht Jerk Chicken Sandwich 320 baht Huevos Rancheros 350 baht Truffle Alfredo Roasted Tomato Soup Signature Iced Expresso Latte 120 baht Salted Caramel Shake 160 baht
All the dishes are well - prepared except for the Huevos Rancheros . The sauce dried up and there was not much sauce left for the tortillas to dip in.
The staff were friendly and competent. Their ability to understand English was pretty good.
We requested for 3 separate bills for the 8 of us. The staff who attended to us was patient and did not make any mistake.
However, an incident impressed me greatly. We requested for warm water. Another staff quoted us 40 baht for each cup of warm water which we agreed. The original staff approached us and suggested that we can order a bottle of water at 120 baht and shared among us , which worked out to be cheaper. I am impressed because the staff bothered to inform us that water was payable, allowing us the choice to have water or not. Some eateries might have served the water without first informing. I am also impressed with the original staff . After knowing what we had ordered, she took the initials to approach us and suggested a money-saving way for the water.
I am so so impressed. Roast is a business entity but they do not behave as in they are only keen in our business and nothing else. Kudos to you, Roast.
I have dined at Roast when they were located at J Avenue. I have also dined at their EM Quartier branch. They are good but I had the best overall experience at Roast @ The Commons. They are a winner in terms of ambience, food quality service. Even though Roast The Commons is not near a BTS Station, it is worth it to take a taxi...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at ROAST Coffee and Eatery in Bangkok, and it was an unforgettable experience.
First off, the creamy gnocchi with chicken was a standout dish. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked, tender, and smothered in a rich, creamy sauce that complemented the chicken beautifully. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavors that left me wanting more.
The Caesar salad was equally impressive. It had just the right amount of dressing, and the crispy romaine lettuce paired perfectly with the crunchy croutons. The addition of parmesan brought a lovely sharpness that elevated the dish.
For dessert, I indulged in their pancakes, and they did not disappoint! Fluffy and light, they were served with a delicious syrup that added the perfect sweetness.
To top it all off, the orange cold brew was simply awesome. It was refreshing and invigorating, making it a perfect pairing for my meal.
The ambiance of ROAST is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for brunch or a casual meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience.
