The most dissapointing meal in Bangkok... I came here after seeing the rave reviews on Google, but every single dish made me increasingly dissatisfied. Compared to JODDFAIR (which is a well known tourist trap), the giant river prawn XXL was more expensive, smaller and the meat, not as fresh, the shrimp meat felt hard and rubbery. The salt baked seabass was the worst offender, nearly 4 times the price of JODDFAIR, yet completely rubbish. Salt baked, the salt is suppose to seep into the fish so that there's both the sweet and salty flavours in the fish. The seabass had none of it, it was merely just a steamed fish. I wonder if they actually understand what salt baked means... I can't believe how lousy the dishes were. It's ok to be pricier if your seafood is fresher and more delicious, but how do you lose in both price and taste to a tourist trap??? I'm not even comparing sea bangkok to those family seafood restaurants near the outskirts of Bangkok, which are the best freshly caught seafood. I'm comparing SEA Bangkok to JODD and it STILL LOSES. What an absolute disgrace.
To add insult to injury, 4 of us ordered nearly 8000 thb worth of seafood and the restaurant did not accept card payment. I wouldn't expect a street stall to accept card, but how can a restaurant with this bill size not accept card payment....
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner at SHA Bangkok last Saturday. We went there with high expectations and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. We have had many very good meals in Bangkok and this dinner was among the best and it was certainly the best seafood meal. All the dishes were superb - the tiger prawns in SEA sauce with the fresh hot bread for dipping (the SEA sauce is amazing!); fried seabass; fried rice with crabmeat and stir fried cabbage with fish sauce. We probably ordered a bit too much food for 2 people but we couldn’t resist as it was all delicious. The staff including the owner provided excellent service and were attentive to our needs. The owner was very personable and took the time to share the history of the restaurant and their signature dishes. The owner even helped us with arranging a Grab car to transport us back to our hotel and waited with us outside until we were safely in the car. Please note that a reservation is recommended as it’s a small restaurant with only 9 tables occupying the ground floor and the first floor. We are looking forward to coming back to the SEA Bangkok and will certainly highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to...
Read moreThe first evening I arrived Bangkok for my birthday trip, I found this restaurant via Google, which has 4.9 Stars. I was so curious and looked forward to go immediately. I clicked the link provided on Google to make reservations, the traffic was bad and I was late for 30 mins, luckily it was not packed so we were still able to have a table for 2. The restaurant is a so hidden in a residential ally, I was worried I got the wrong place, but it was fine! They have a shop sign and it’s look like a residential house. The staffs were super kind, service was excellent! The restaurant is so clean and neat with AC on! I asked the staff(not sure if he was the boss) to recommend some best dishes for me. So I had Crab, fish and XL prawns ( I can’t recall full name of dishes) the crab claws were so big😍!!!! The best seafood that I ever had in my life, and the source was super yummy too! All seafood was so fresh! The taste was unforgettable🥹 it was such a good start and best dinner for my trip, price is very reasonable!!!! I will come back if I visit Bangkok again!!! I will bring more friends ,and even recommend my friends to come when they visit Bangkok!...
