Ramen was good, but the rest of the dishes in the picture were just okay. The “wagyu beef” was quite hard to chew even after we asked for medium well—initially, it came medium rare (which was even harder to chew). Definitely not a recommended dish. The Ehirei was also too thick and tough to eat.
My husband ordered the happy hour promo (buy 2 get 1 free) and told the staff he would be drinking alone. There seemed to be a miscommunication, as they served all 3 beers at once. I later saw another table getting their beers one by one, so I asked the staff again and explained the situation. They took one beer back, but my husband had already explained in Thai (basic, but clear enough to understand).
I also feel the staff could be more proactive in offering and managing happy hour orders. For example, when my husband was on his last glass, one staff member came to ask if he wanted another—but also mentioned the happy hour had just ended. We didn’t realise the time had passed until she came over. It would be much better if customers were reminded before the promo ends, especially when the restaurant isn’t busy and there are enough staff to attend to customers.
Update : I truly appreciate the manager for coming over to talk to us about the situation. He took the time to listen, clarify, and take accountability, which I highly respect. His professionalism and willingness to address feedback directly left a positive impression despite the earlier issues.
I believe this izakaya would...
Read moreThis was is a great spot for some food and drinks. There is actually a few restaurants/bar in this space. But the food is delicious. It had many of the normal izakay dishes but not a wide selection compared to others in the area but it does have yakisoba and okonomiyaki.
I don’t recommend the happy hour deals ( 3 for 1 ) drink deals as the drinks are basically all ice and little alcohol. Just order a normal drink.
The atmosphere is relaxed and feels very Japanese as to the theme. Menu has English, Thai, and Japanese so it’s easy enough to read and know what...

This area is full of Izakaya of course. Because it’s still the number one Bangkok area for Japanese expats. So it’s difficult for Japanese places to stand out. But sometimes they don’t necessarily have to stand out. They just have to be good and comfy.
Yokocho is both. And it is connected to Hokkaido Soup Curry. So besides your Izakaya classics you can also order from there (same owner).
They have good happy hour beer promotions for Asahi. Unfortunately they don’t have draft...
