the food overall was just above okay and lacked the true spiciness of thai food, some of it very good and an excellent version of "for foreigner" thai vegan food (not fusion or authentic thai spicy) and refreshing not too sweet like is typical of bangkok dishes, some of it seems like it could have been fresher, especially breakfast. i gave it 5 stars though for the ethics, thai vegan food, atmosphere, and the outstanding service - the persons who served us were always very kind and helpful. i was a guest at the hotel so i had dinner and breakfast, dinner was much better; i felt the breakfast needed more freshness to the vegan food and the espresso drinks were probably one of, if not, the worst i have had in thailand (it is 25 minutes to the nearest cafe so more needs to be done here... there are some very good coffees coming from chaing rai and there are very good roasters in bangkok that could help here... i had to go to the nearest cafe at another hotel 25 minutes away to get a cappuccino that did not taste like the grounds were used twice - the issue is of course the quality and roast of coffee used and the grind of that, not the preparation or service (my advice here is to acquire the services of an experienced master barista consultant to set it up)... seriously, this is how people...
Read moreWhat a total disappointment. Does not resemble an iota of what Thai food is and should be.
Do I mind paying top dollar for food, No. Do I mind not getting authentic Thai food in Thailand, Yes especially if the price point is triple that of other places.
The Pad Thai was totally mediocre and amateurish so much so that we did not even touch it after the first bite. It was bland of any taste and it was worse than what one could get from a supermarket microwave packet. The tofu satay was a 3/5 as good as one could but the sauce could be better. The massaman curry and red curry had similar taste and were on par with what one could get in a mediocre Thai restaurant in any Western town.
Again I went in to have authentic Thai food and we came out rather disappointed after seeing all the 5 star reviews. What were they comparing it to, a store bought prepackaged 10 months on the shelf Thai dish.
The smoothies were good 4/5.
Again a dissatisfied customer who knows his food and was totally disappointed with the mediocre ness of the food in this establishment especially if calling it Thai food.
The owner and servers gets 5 stars for service but I came for food.

Read moreThe restaurant is located at a small boutique hotel and has a tranquil atmosphere, calm and relaxing. You feel whisked away from the crazyness of Bangkok. The food is good, although the prices are high compared with the small size portions. We are vegans, and this restaurant is mainly vegetarian, with some seafood dishes. In general, the waiters does not speak very good English but we were affored another waiter explaining the dishes so we did manage. One thing we did react on is that there were only male waiters taking orders and serving food, the females did only refill our glass of water- this was weird. The wine menu is small and not particularly interesting, and a too expensive (I'm a sommelier). There were not any vegan desserts, so we were offered fresh mango, and got one plate each of a sliced mango, that tasted great but did not offer anything special. If you are looking for a great food experience I would consider going somewhere else. But if it's a relaxed and luxurious vibe you want, this might...
