The Black forest cake (259 THB) was yum and the highlight. The chocolate shell on the outside is genius. Croissant (118 THB). Could be crispier and flakier. I don’t understand why they serve it with a nob of butter. Croissants are basically made with a ton of butter. Why does it need more? Latte (159 THB) was meh. Not the fault of the barista though. Just the thai/myanmar blend dark roasted beans (20g beans in, 40g espresso out) they were using tasted flat. The menu prices exclude service charge and tax which total 17.7%. Why not include it in the menu price? All the prices mentioned above in my review are inclusive of all service charges and taxes which do add up. No complimentary glass of water is provided. Environment is nice. If you like the brass and wood tones you’d also love Hario Cafe in ekkamai. Plus they’ll do better coffee.
Overall I’d come back for the other pastries and cakes. Skip the coffee and...
Read moreFabulous bakery and cafe on the grounds of the soon to open Aman Nai Lert. Fantastic collaboration between Alain Ducasse and Lek Nai Lert to open this bakery in the middle of the most beautiful gardens of Bangkok. Everything from interiors to service and of course taste is spot on. I highly recommend the hot chocolate, iced mocha, citron tarte, goats cheese quiche and the pain au chocolat.
Not to forget, this is also a pastry/culinary school with short and long courses in savouries and sweets. The chefs are trained by Mr Ducasse himself and will teach at this pastry school. Short courses are usually few hours long. Long courses are up to a couple of months- a must try in Bangkok! Last tip- since it’s very new, I recommend you go prior to 3pm as lots of baked goods are sold out by the latter...
Read moreI had high expectations but that was left short. Set in beautiful Nai Lert park, this cafe and the other F&B outlets here are great to dine at for the pretty and serene environment.
We ordered a beetroot salad, a salmon poke bowl, an anchovy pizza, 2 drinks, a berry tart and a canelé. The servings were small so were more suitable as snacks. The beetroot salad was colourful but the dressing was off and did not go well with the veggies. The anchovy pizza sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking and very thin. The canelé, which I had, was disapponting, as the...
