Baan kaibae sea food — Restaurant in Ko Chang

This restaurant looks upscale from the outside, with a wooden boat displaying seafood at the entrance. The interior is spacious, with large wooden tables and chairs. However, a horizontal plank under the table leaves no room for your feet, making it uncomfortable to sit.

The lady taking orders doesn’t speak English. During dinner hours, it gets busy, so the wait for food can be quite long.

The fish is fresh, but there’s nothing special about it compared to other restaurants, and it’s 100 baht more expensive. The soup and vegetable dishes are decent, but not particularly delicious or outstanding compared to other places.

After spending over 800 baht on dinner here, I had to go to another restaurant for dessert just to feel full.

I liked the interior which felt spacious and homely both at the same time.

The menu had a good range of seafood dishes. I ordered a simple seafood salad.

I have to say sometimes as I chew my way through another mouthful of squid why it is I opt for that grub of the sea. But having said that I did get what I asked for and despite finding the squid a little plain and rubbery, as I always do, I did enjoy the prawns and mussels.
