The place looks ok and there are plenty of people. I love Mai Tai and saw, they offered Mai Tai. So I ordered one and what I got was no Mai Tai. It was some mix of cheap White and dark Rum, no Almond liquer, no Triple Sec and I did not taste any lime juice. It was actually no Mai Tai. So I gave them one of my best recepe of making a real Mai Tai and they said: If we put all this into a Mai Tai, we have to charge 35 Dollar and "ask my Boss" thats the cheapest way to speak. And I wanted to help. I offered her to take a photo from the recepe but she just was too convinced about herself and the boss. MaiTai is a classical Californian Cocktail. The National fruit of CA is Almond. Thats why Almond is a must, does not matter which recepe you are using. I was aware and because I also live in Chon Buri, i know, in Thailand often is no Almond in the Mai Tai. Ok I brought it with me and gave her my Almond liquer to add 2cl. She did that but the rest of the "MaiTai" wasn't a MaiTai either. I mean: If you dont want to make a good MaiTai, bcse you think its too costly (what it actually isn't) you should not offer it. In that case, the lady even had definitely no idea about it. I was operated on my Larynx recently and my voice is still not strong. For that I felt treated like a bit the stupid guy in that restaurant. And again: I was kind, I wanted to help. As a former Chef and very experienced in Cocktail making
Real Mai Tai:
White Rum 4cl Brown Rum 4cl Lime juice 1-2cl Triple sec 2cl Californian Almond (or Amaretto) 2 cl Grenadine 1cl Pineapple juice 6 cl Orange juice 4 cl
Shake with ice but not too long.
Thats it and you get a good Mai Tai quite often in Thailand. Its a classical Cocktail, it is one of the more complicated ones. A signature.
I add a photo of a real Mai Tai, taken in Pattaya a few days before. The Mai Tai was 180 Baht. The NON Mai Tai in "MORGAN"...
Read moreWe went in on a Saturday to watch an early premier league game I was a bit skeptical readying some of the negative reviews, more so having a 5 year old But to be very honest, I can’t see where those negative points of view come from We sat on the second floor, great atmosphere, multiple big screens including a projector Service was impeccable, seated straight away, even busy and attended to very efficiently In short we were made very welcome Service in Thailand is sometimes something you have to be patient with, so when it’s on point I always feel it deserves to be pointed out. Home comfort food at low prices Cottage pie Hamburger Sausage eggs chips and beans Satay and chips All excellent Highly recommend on and off football days When we return to Koh chang, as we often do, will look forward to visiting...
Read moreAbsolutely awesome place. Very friendly staff. Two story building, which provides excellent views of the street with all its hustle and bustle. After eating Thai food now for 7 days, this restaurant left a very good impression. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. No frozen stuff like other places. We ordered three plates of food to share and fell short of licking off the plates. The owners of this restaurant have managed to adapt to the comeback after COVID-19 and have nailed it, unlike so many others who did not use the outage to look ahead. I recommend this restaurant with full five stars because they are there for the customer made a very good impression in-between COVID-19 ruins...
