The place has been recommended to us by a friend who lives in the island so 5 of us went to eat here to celebrate my 50th birthday on April 23rd. Everything was fine until the food arrived and we began to eat. I took a bite of my chicken dopiaza and it tasted bad, dry chicken, bland none description flavor, nothing like the hundreds of dopiazas I've previously tasted. The naan however was tasty, thin and as it should be. Looking around the table I could tell the other people in our group also didn't look too happy either. So I asked and each confirmed that they were not, we all tasted each other's food to see if it was just a personal taste issue but we all agreed that none of the food was any good and apart from the naan breads it was all really really really bad. Upon this realization I called over the waiter and calmly and politely explained that we were not happy with the food and it tasted really bad. I also asked him if there was a new chef as a friend (who I've been for Indian meals many many times previously) had recommended it, to which he apologized and said it was the same chef as always. At this point he left the table with no offer to rectify the situation, offer alternatives or take dishes off the final bill. As a group we forged ahead and tried to eat a little more of the food but it was really not very good so it all got pushed around the plate for 20 minutes while we and pretty finished the bread and our drinks, eventually calling the waiter over for the bill. Again I expressed our unhappiness but still he refused to fix anything or take any of the dishes off the final bill. Being my birthday meal, I really didn't want to argue the point excessively so we paid the bill and left. At that point we just put it down to badly tasting food however, shortly after we all began to feel quiet ill, with one of our group beginning to vomit repeatedly so returned home with his wife where he continued to vomit throughout the night. Within 2 drinks the rest of us also returned to our hotels also feeling unwell. The entire group of 5 were unwell the following day (my actual birthday) so we spent the entire day within 50 meters of a toilet and ended up in bed by 8 PM. Not sure if it was an isolated incident but the restaurant clearly has a hygiene issue or are serving old food , but I did tell the restaurant twice and neither time did they even attempt to rectify the issue. For everyone in our group to get ill from eating there and then to be charged for the experience is completely unacceptable so on that basis I would strongly advise against eating here, I...
