Good Luck Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Trat Province

Came here on my last night in Koh Chang for dinner. I was looking for good seafood in Koh Chang and stumbled upon this high rated restaurant and I was equally surprised that it was only 100 meters from where I was staying in Koh Chang so I walked there with my partner. There are also a lot of parking spots for motorbikes and cars.

The restaurant is situated in a complex of seafood restaurants so finding it can be a bit difficult as they all mostly look the same. But you can just look at the big "Good Luck Seafood" writing and you've found it.

The night was extremely busy but we managed to get a seat for two and we ordered a pork egg omelette, some shrimps with herbs, steamed rice, sweet and sour fish, fried crabs, and 2 cokes (a lot, I know. We tend to do that when we are extremely hungry).

The order was long, like really long, maybe upwards of one hour but once they arrived, they arrived all at once and it tasted absolutely amazing. Bang on point, everything tasted so good and we ended up finishing everything.

All in all, we spent 1050 THB and we will go there again when we visit Koh Chang.

Proprietor Mr K and his lovely wife runs this fuss free alfresco style eatery. It doesn't get any more authentic. The menu is HUGE with dubious western dishes but try before judging. Garlic bread and burgers were made to western methods, chips are brown and cooked to perfection, you can't even find that in your home country sometimes if you try. Local Thai food needless to say is authentic, seafood e.g. prawns and snapper are so fresh, our team's favourite is the deep fried snapper with sprinkles of chillis, galangal and garlic on top, dressed with soy and brown sugar, possibly tamarind soo. Ate here 5 dinners out of our 6 nights stay in Kai Bae. Tried many different dishes, everything we had was just great! Very wide "classic" Thai menu, with something for everyone, with relatively large portions. Shakes are also really good. Very fair prices, about 25% lower than similar restaurants around the area. The staff is super kind, attentive, & friendly. The owner remembers returning customers, remembered our preferences, & was an excellent host. He even noticed that we don't eat the free watermelon they bring as dessert & brought us pineapple instead. A simple place, but clean & with a very lively atmosphere. Highly...
