Banana House — Restaurant in Krabi Province

A great family run restaurant with delicious home cooked dishes that span a variety of cuisines. (Thai, Chinese, Japanese etc)

We ordered morning glory, brocolli, chili prawns, and the lemon steamed fish. For drinks, we had the Thai milk tea and fresh coconut.

Everything tasted like it was made with love, even the milk tea. The lemon steamed fish was absolutely phenomenal! Stuffed with lemongrass, ginger and other spices, it absolutely rivals bigger commercial restaurants. I ordered more rice just to pair with the sauce. We didnt leave one drop on the plate.

One note is that you need to manage expectations on time. They are still a small business that doesn't have too many servers. It's not really an issue for us as we came on vacation and didnt really care for time. I suggest the same for other fellow travellers.

They do take credit card with a 3% surcharge, which is convenient for people...

We stayed in a double room with a shared bathroom. The room was nice with a little balcony overlooking the busy Street. The bathroom was relatively clean and quite small with very cold water. The bed was a little too hard but didn't stop me from sleeping. It would've been nice if the room had a fridge to store water as it reached 40 degrees! The beach is approximately 15 minutes walk with many bars and restaurants on the way. The staff were absolutely lovely. We hired a scooter for 250baht too. Overall great place to stay with...
