A chilled out, picturesque, enchanting, mangrove bar in a small village at the north end of Koh Phi Phi Don. If you're looking to chill out in the evenings with lovely drinks and nostalgic music, this is the place to be. I have been to Phi Phi twice in 12 months now, and I am due to fly out again soon, and when I am there, I frequent this bar. It's the bar that I always dreamed of. The drinks are lovely and the staff kind and friendly. I often go in alone as a solo traveller and feel completely comfortable and welcome (solo travellers will love this). Last time I was with friends and it was equally as welcoming. Camel Rock bar is situated in a small charming village and appears to be constructed from beach artefacts and memorabilia from the 1990's and 00s. It has a special charm all of its own and if you watch carefully, you'll see water monitors swimming below the bar, in the mangrove. It is easily accessible from Laem Tong beach or SAii Village resort. The bar is surrounded by eateries too; so the aroma of delicious food often drifts towards your table and you may be tempted to wander for food. I love this place. NOTE: this bar is not in Tonsai (the main and busier area of Phi Phi), it is at the north end of the island and it takes around 30 mins on long tail boat to get there from Tonsai. Camel Rock is far more convenient for those staying at Laem Tong Beach or SAii village resort. This is really the Robinson Crusoe part of Phi Phi. If you want to visit from Tonsai, long tail will cost around 1000 baht one way (or 2000 baht return), The boatsman will return later, and bring you back to Tonsai as late as you like, as long as you prearrange it with them. You will see lots of videos on Phi Phi and sadly, most tourists tend to stick around the Tonsai area. I think this is short sighted and a big mistake, because there is so much more to Phi Phi than Tonsai. Make sure you check google maps so you get a good idea of the layout of the island and how the resorts are scattered around all ends...

Read moreCamelrock is a bar you have to visit on your visit to Phi Phi. Tucked away in amongst the small locals village, this bar is a feast for the eyes. Looking into different corners of the bar finding new weird and wonderful decorations.
The guys are great who run the place & small bit of remembering our order (albeit because we couldnât stay away from the place!). Spending our nights playing the bar games that are available or watching the sea come back in and watching the sea nightlife come alive right under your feet whilst sipping on beautiful cocktails/beers/soft drinks.
