Risky Business Restaurant & Sports Bar — Restaurant in Krabi Province

The owner, an enraged and incensed drunk man, approached us and aggressively scolded us repeatedly for smoking over the pool table and repeated that if I burned a hole on the pool table it would “cost him 8,000 dollars”. First, I had brought the cigarette near the edge of the table and smoked one puff and after realizing my discourteousness I had returned the cigarette back into the ashtray before he approached me. Second, it doesn’t matter if one is right or wrong: paying customers should be treated with respect. His demeanor was disgraceful enough for us to leave the establishment with no desire to ever return. I was apologetic and yet the owner treated us as if we were a threat to his business. He did not once show any regard or care for our experience nor did he apologize for his behavior. The kind Thai server apologized to us as she recognized we were unsettled and uncomfortable remaining in the restaurant for our food to finish being prepared.

We took our food to go and ate it in our hotel room. I second a previous review with a customer stating that they felt the owner was overly friendly with Australians but neglecting the British patrons; similarly, as the owner returned to drink with a group after this encounter, of whom I assume were Australians. Been there couple of times the food is great therefore the owners attitude and service is terrible. We went there yesterday for a dinner and drinks, sat down and waited like 10min for someone to bring the menu. The owner (we guess he’s the owner and old aussie guy) saw us but didn’t bother to come to our table, he just kept chatting with other guests and walking around. We took the menu from the other table ourselves and that waited another 20min to order. During that time 2 couples came in and were greeted by the owner right away after taking a seat. After that happened for the second time right in front of our face we just left as we felt very unwelcomed.

Our guess is that the owner is discriminating young peope as we are under 30s and all other couples that came in and were served right away were 50+. Thats a really disrespectful thing to do and quite schoking to be honest. So a one...

Excellent food, best place to eat at in the area! Normally when you see such a big menu with items from various cuisines it’s a bad sign but nope! Everything’s super tasty and high quality ingredients, from American through British, Mexican to Thai. I’d just point out my salmon steak was pretty overdone, would suggest to give a poor guy a few less minutes in the oven/pan :)

Kudos to the waitress who paid attention all the modifications we’d made to our dishes; next time we came she’d just ask if we’d like “the same”. She also remembered small things like my bf didn’t eating his black pudding with his full English - when he reordered the following day she asked if he’d like to change it to sth else upfront. Top notch!
