Rom Mai — Restaurant in Krabi Province

My experience at Rom Mai restaurant was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment we stepped through the door, it was clear that Som, the waitress, had no interest in providing even basic customer service. She was rude, dismissive, and seemed annoyed by our presence.

The food was a whole other nightmare. Not only was it poorly prepared and lacking in flavor, but to our shock, some dishes were tainted with mold. When we brought this to Som's attention, she brushed us off as if it were no big deal. No apology, no attempt to make things right.

To make matters worse, shortly after eating at Rom Mai, my entire party came down with food poisoning. It was a miserable experience that ruined our evening and left us feeling physically ill for days afterward.

In summary, Rom Mai is a disgrace of a restaurant. With abysmal service from Som and food that's not only unappetizing but also hazardous to your health, there's absolutely no reason to subject yourself to such a dreadful dining experience. WARNING FOOD POISONING FROM BURGER! We came into the restaurant as it looked nice and was directly next to the beach. My girlfriend and me ordered the Mexican burger. Staff was friendly and food arrived relatively quick. However, the burger was tasteless and the fries not even remotely crunchy. The worst part followed the next morning where both of us had to hug the toilet for over one day! I've eaten many things here in Thailand and elsewhere and nothing has ever made me this sick in my life! Review from someone living in Thailand. If you want authentic and delicious southern Thai food this might be the only place on Phi Phi. We've been very disappointed with the Thai food in other restaurants on the island which are mainly serving the same boring dishes (and cooked rather mediocre).
