I've given 1 star as we weren't given a table with a view, there was apparently a huge party coming in which took up ALL the tables with the over seeing view of the sunset and town. We got there at 6. We had preordered and paid for a 6 course menu. The first course had been put down on the table before we had even ordered drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine and they topped us up when needed which was nice. The service was 5 stars. They wanted to put down each course as we had finished which made us feel rushed and we asked to wait 10 minutes In-between each as we didn't want to feel too full. After the 3rd and 4th course, the mains had been put down, they put down alot of them at the same time. About a 100 people started to flock in. There had previously been 2 or 3 other tables which had left or was just leaving. It was about 7.30ish now and the piano player who took requests (which was incredible, he was amazing and knew every song you asked him to play) well the people who flocked in were drinking and starting to sing, very loudly along to him. It was OK at first but they literally sang along to every song after that. It was supposed to be our last evening in thailand and it started off romantic with the lovely music and chill setting. But soon became chaotic sounding and rushed. We were soon being closed in upon by the guests (maybe a wedding?) And I could see staff surrounding our table - almost protecting us from them. We were still eating this huge amount of food they put down all at once. We finished our mains and had a glass of wine left each. They obviously realised it was a bit much and tried to offer us a free drink which we said 'no thank you' as why would we want to stay longer when it was as loud as it was. Someone else soon came to us and offered a free dessert to which we said 'our dessert is included in our set menu, we don't need 2 desserts, but can we have our dessert now' 10 minutes later we've finished our glasses of wine and still no dessert. We asked for the bill. 5 stars for the service and food but 1 star for not having closed the restaurant or warned us of this huge event. Bear in mind people were still coming in when we were getting the bill and people were now literally next to our table taking pictures and such. If they didn't have such a huge party coming in we could've had a nice view and less chaotic surroundings. We would've even finished our meal by the time they had sat down as no body was yet. So even though I had asked if we could sit with the nice view they had said no, but it would've been possible and we wouldn't have had such noise.
We left around 8, I think a nice 5/6 course or so meal should be relaxing and not rushed and surely 2 hours is not too much to ask for. I dont like being rushed...
We asked for a refund and the restaurant has said its not their fault that they had a huge party that night. They did offer for us to come in the next day and have the same meal at lunch time. Which would not be the same as we were there the previous night and its isn't nice to go back when it was like that the first time. It was a huge anniversary and you cant just 'redo' the same food and feeling the next day... And it's embarrassing for both sides. They said they couldn't do the evening at there was another huge party.
I DONT RECOMMEND BOOKING THIS PLACE as they always seem to have big events on. Probably only good for a big event, as they prioritise Bigger groups that make them more money, over smaller tables like ours who want...

Recently, my family visited Baan Rim Pa as a celebratory dinner for both a 50th and 21st birthday. This dinner was to be a highlight of our trip, we dressed to the nines and made sure to have empty and hungry stomachs for what we were sure would be an amazing Thai meal. We were recommended by our concierge who spoke in great praise of its ambience and food. Well... We sat down to an amazing view, albeit very similar to Sea Salt right next door. We opened our menus and choked on the astronomical prices, however we believed it would be justified by both quality and quantity and so ordered two starters and three main meals with rice.
Course one was dumplings the size of marbles, this is no exaggeration, I don’t recall this saying it was a cold dish on the menu but it certainly was. The second dish was no larger and frankly no more appetizing. We then got a curry that filled little more than half a rice bowl, with three pieces of meat and a plate of vegetables which certainly did not suffice. Lastly we had ordered some king prawns, when we ordered these we had asked the waitress how many would come in a serve to which she replied four... so we ordered two serves. Out came one serve consisting of two prawns, which left us gawking around the table at each other very confused. We ended up ordering a second serve which took around 20 minutes to arrive.
Safe to say we were starving at the end of this meal having paid 7000 Bhat including the bottle of wine we ordered for 2000 Bhat. So we reluctantly paid the bill and found ourselves sitting next door at Sea Salt where we received great service and ordered drinks and desserts which were far more generous in portion and a far higher calibre of dining.
If you like spending thousands of Bhat on low quality minuscule portions of food whilst looking at a lovely view, Baan Rim Pa is for you. If you’re not a fan of a tourist trap and having your money ripped from your own pockets, take my advice and head next door to Sea Salt.

First of all,
This is not, completly NOT a romantic place.
If you want to see the sunset, you will be face the direct sun burn on your face and you will be with full sweat while you are eating something.
This will bring you terrible experience.
And,
Actually you can not see the sunset and beatiful sight because
Group customers block all of the sight and sunset because they stand all times while when you sit and eat.
EVEN
They are quiet noisy and they have no manners, they dont care other customers.
Now, you are in the cheap, dirty, noisy and unpleasant local market.
Imagine!
Imagine once more.
Do you know? When group customers become like dirty dogs on the street. They bark all the time. Even The manager of this place does not control them.
Here are more.
The foods are under grade whatever you think about
But the staffs here are all kind. I dont want to blame anyone of the staffs.
