Malika Sky Bar — Restaurant in Patong

At December 29th. I booked the very sea side table. on Dec 29, and it was totally recorded. But when we visited there in the reservation time, a woman server(who is short and thin and has dark skin, looked like middle or late twenties) said there's no sea side table that we can use, because of some issue. Without any apology and additional explain.

I felt so bad that there was no apology ever. Even worse, the short girl tried to read us to the very wrong table looked like just got cleaned. Of course we didn't accept that.

Then she let us to wait for more than 10 minutes, standing, having no apology and esplain at all. Unfortunately we had to ask another steff guy, and his first saying was 'i dont know'. He looked also very thin and like thirties.

but after few minutes he came back, and let a group of guests that were sitting in one sea side table, seeing the menu plate at that time, looked like 6 persons) out of the sea side table. Seemed like they didn't make reservations. Because they left the table without any complain after the server guy asked them to leave and have another table.

After all he got us take that sea side table. But it seems like fact that some staff working there just gave the table which was booked on us to other customers who were had no reservations. Without checking and thinking, or having any intentions. Hopefully it'd be the first.

In That night I didn't complain about that because I didn't want to be upset. But I have to mention it. They should've said sorry to us and explained why the situation was occurred. It's not rate so.

Anyway, I visited there in the day before the trouble day. 28 Dec. And there was perfect crew named Frame. His services was amazing. That made us visit this bar again.

Plus, i strongly don't recommend you to visit there weekend. They don't control drunken mad screaming...

We went to Malika Sky Bar by Kalima Resort, for a late celebration of my birthday.

There’s no doubt that Kalima is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Patong area—perhaps even in all of Phuket.

Malika is an open-air restaurant located on the 6th floor of the Kalima Hotel and Resort. Overlooking Patong Bay, the view is nothing short of breathtaking. We arrived at 6 PM to catch the sunset and were warmly welcomed by Malika’s wonderful staff. Our table had a stunning view of the bay, and the cocktails we ordered—the Coconut Mojito and Yuzu Margarita—were fantastic.

The menu offers a wide variety of international and Thai dishes. We decided to go with Thai food, which, unfortunately, turned out to be the biggest mistake of the evening.

Spicy Beef Salad – Despite requesting it to be mildly spicy, it was overwhelmingly hot and very dry.

Beef Massaman Curry – Mostly fatty beef with barely any sauce, making it quite disappointing.

Geang Phed Ped Yang (Roasted Duck Red Curry in Coconut Milk with Pineapple) – Recommended by our waiter, was Okey but it failed to impress.

After two weeks of dining at various Thai restaurants across Thailand, I can confidently say that the food here was disappointing—at best, average.

Would I return to Malika? Absolutely Yes —but for the incredible ambiance, great cocktails, wonderful team and perhaps to try the Western dishes. As for the Thai food, I strongly recommend...
