Gin Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar – A Hidden Gem That Deserves the Spotlight

Tucked away inside a hotel and admittedly not the easiest to find — but absolutely worth seeking out. Gin Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar is an outstanding Japanese dining experience that truly sets itself apart from the rest. This place doesn’t just meet expectations — it exceeds them in every way.

The sushi is incredibly fresh, expertly prepared, and rich in authentic flavor. The teppanyaki grill dishes are just as impressive — cooked to perfection right in front of you, with quality ingredients and real craftsmanship. Every dish is a reminder of how amazing Japanese cuisine can be when done right.

What truly makes Gin special is the unmatched hospitality. The staff go above and beyond — warm, genuine, and incredibly attentive. We were personally taken care of by Kwang, Ping and Toey, who made the experience even more memorable with their kindness, professionalism, and positive energy. It’s rare to feel this welcome and looked after.

It’s a shame this place isn’t more widely known, simply because of its hidden location. But once you’ve been, you’ll realize it’s a place worth returning to again and again. Gin Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar deserves more attention — tell your friends, spread the word, and treat yourself to an unforgettable Japanese meal....

We visited the restaurant for an evening meal, and while the food was excellent, the service could use some improvement.

The evening started with a bit of a rough patch. Our waitress was a trainee and had an awkwardly loud voice, which made the experience slightly uncomfortable. When I asked for recommendations on the Teppanyaki menu, she wasn’t able to assist. Another waitress eventually came to help, but her suggestion wasn’t particularly helpful either — she simply pointed to the most expensive option, Wagyu beef. The rest of the ordering process was a bit bumpy, but we managed to finalize everything after some back and forth.

Once the food arrived, though, everything changed for the better. The dishes were superb. The Wagyu beef was absolutely divine, melting in the mouth with each bite. We also ordered chicken and scallop Teppanyaki, along with a few appetizers, all of which were equally delicious.

The only drawback during the meal was the delay in receiving our drinks, which didn’t arrive as promptly as expected.

In summary, the food was outstanding, but the service needs improvement to match the quality...

Our review is based on multiple visits to Gin Teppanyaki on 1st March 2024, 26th December 2024, and 1st March 2025. Each time we enter Gin Teppanyaki, we are met with a sense of quiet sophistication. Gin has always far exceeded my dad’s and my expectations. We always choose Gin for special occasions, such as my dad’s birthday, and each visit has been a truly unforgettable experience. Our most recent visit on 1st March 2025, was for my dad’s birthday. The lovely kitchen and cooking staff surprised him with a special mini birthday cake and gathered to sing Happy Birthday to him, making the evening even more memorable. Chef Keng, who has always prepared and cooked for us, never fails to impress. His animated and brilliant cooking, paired with a theatrical style and fascinating tricks, adds to the excitement. The food is consistently delicious. My dad and I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Khun Wiwa and Khun Toey, who have always been incredibly attentive and provided phenomenal service during our visits. Newly opened japanese restaurant connected to the hotel. The venue, presentation of the food and the service were very good. The food it self was not in the way we expected. The sushi didn't feel fresh at all, and contained smell of fish in a way you don't want it. The texture of especially the salmon was creapy. The meat from Japan was tender, but overall not happy about the meat. Very dry pork meat was also given us (pork shoulder) For the future you should serve them in very thin beef pieces instead of small dices. Only really good thing on the menu was the gyozas. For the record they also gave us old vanilla ice cream which we sent back. They replaced it with fresh ice cream from the hotel. All in all extremly disapointed experience due to the dinner itself cost us over 5000 baht, and the food was a downer. There are a lot of improvements to be done here, but I'm sure they will manage after some time if they wrap their heads together and serve out fresh meat and seafood. For 5000+ baht you get a really nice experience on the other side of the street.
