We got here early in the evening. We ordered an appetizer to start, (spinach and cheese in pastry). I ordered a mousakka and my husband, lamb in a bread pouch (can't remember the name of it) for the mains.
I saw the previous review about the mousakka but the owner said the review was fake and was made by his greek momma, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Things looked very promising when we received a plate each of a slice of warm bread and some of the best tsaziki I have ever tasted.... gratis.
Next my husband's main meal turned up. Rather small and bland. We asked what happened to the appetizer and was told it took longer than the main meal to heat up. One would think an experienced restauranter would not serve a main meal before an appetiser but there you have it. Not a biggie in the big scheme of things. Then arrived my mousakka. The top of a mousakka should have a creamy egg mixture on top approx 1cm thick. Mine either sank or it was not the right mixture. It proved not to be the right mixture. Wayyyy too much flour, making it heavy and more bread like. In it's defense the meat mixture was very tasty. The appetiser arrived during my main meal and was very nice.
When paying I asked what nationality the cook was and was told, genuine Greek recipe, Thai chef.
Service from the staff was very good and friendly.
Would we go back? No. Unfortunately very...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant 3 or so months ago with friends and had a great experience but tonight (Saturday) we called in around 8.45 and felt so unwelcome that we left.
There were a number of diners in the restaurant and we walked in waiting directly in front of the glass doors where a waitress was standing. We expected some sort of welcome, but it never came so we sat ourselves down and waited for service. 5 minutes late the stony faced waitress brought a menu and when we asked to try some of the wine that we planned to buy a bottle of, and which they had by the glass, simply refused without apology. We got the impression she would prefer us not to be there, so we decided to take our custom somewhere else.
Such a shame because the food on our first visit was really good!
Adding info following response; yes I am afraid it was your place in Pattaya almost opposite Osteria Sendi where we went on to dine. You’re quite right it was Friday night not Saturday. I hope your staff training is successful because it was such a shame and we would love to come back because your food was...
Read moreI heard about this wonderful Greek Restaurant from Google Map. The reviews were every positive and the restaurant looked fabulous. It is inside a small Soi so it might be challenging to find.
I arrived early and had had a shot of Ouzo and a bottled water. I proceeded to ordered the Lamb Shank that many reviewers preferred. I also ordered the BBQ Giant Octopus tentacles.
The appetizer of octopus was very tender and delicious. It was served with just a lemon wedge which is nice. The Lamb Shank was huge portion of Lamb and could easily feed 3 or more people. I have to say that the Lamb Shank was slightly dry because it was pre-made. However it was still delicious and I basically ate only 30% of my order and had to take the leftovers home.
I also noticed they sell Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I also bought a 1 kilogram of Feta Cheese from Greece. The owner Nick was in Greece last month to get them...
Nick is a wonderful man from Greece however his English is extremely good.
Two thumbs up for this...
