Went looking for Deli Factory for an afternoon breakfast after having great Eggs Benedict last year some time.
Found myself in a rebranded Italian restaurant.... Firenze... and decided to go all out. Today is pay day!
Ordered a starter and a main. Then fell for desert which also came off the starter menu - crepes with Salmon.
All top shelf. The main beef dish would be plain in a vacuum and I added a touch of salt. Great value at half the price I've paid for steaks with less flavour and volume in this area. Combined with the starters and / or salads makes for a nice and filling meal.
The real kicker was the wine. Sicilian Primitivo at 16.5% abv. It was recommended from the wine list. I'm no wine snob but drink it pretty often. This was great wine!
Staff are friendly and attentive. The place is nice with tasteful decor and nice selection of cold...
Read moreAs a first time diner here, my expectations were quite high. The displays of deli items like cheese and meats is very appealing and the freshly made breads and pastries too.
I had decided prior to arriving that it was the Reuben that I wanted ... only to be told that they were unavailable until Saturday (3 days hence). Oh well, back to the menu and settled on banh mi and pulled pork burger.
The breads were excellent. Both taste and texture. The fillings were less so though. There wasn't enough pulled pork on the large Arabo bun and what was there didn't have much flavour. The pork in the banh mi, together with the dry salad items had to be swallowed down with water. It really needed some moisture.
Feedback was provided to the really friendly and efficient team in the shop.

Tons of deli choices Out of Reuben sando Staff recommended the special: spaghetti and meatballs. Great choice . Good quality meat and flavorful seasoning. Tomato sauce was tangy and not overpowering. The freshly made pasta tagliatelle was perfectly cooked and not too al dente, but I would preferred it with spaghetti or linguine next time.
House, Cabernet Savignon was ok. Very light for my taste.
Durian ice cream was ok, but it needed more of that funky, cheesy in your face flavors.
Bread made in house (see pic) was amazing . Nice crunch on the outside and fluffy soft inside.
Great experience. Will come back for the Reuben.
