TANKAY RESTAURANT(South Pattaya) — Restaurant in Pattaya City

Avoid this place at all costs, we certainly wish we had, ripp off and poor service dosent begin to cover it. We went out for an early seafood meal and ended up in Tankay seafood, it was the first one we came too, what a mistake.

We did get a table next to the seafront, we were the only customers at 17.45 so that was easy, then came the menu and we ordered four different dishes, one large Chang and one orange juice. The food was Ok, nothing special, service was slow until we asked for the Bill, then the waiter dissapered and a couple of new staff members appeared with the bill for 5,965 baht, 2,000 baht would have been expensive. When I questioned items on the bill it was quickly reduced by 1,000 baht, when I asked to keep the bill or get a copy they went away and came back with a receipt I could keep which now had 4,335 baht as the total which I reluctantly paid even though this was double what I expected to pay.

Very pricey. Food was not good as compared to King Restaurant a few doors down. Had the lobster thermidor. Was stringy and the thermidor sauce was flavorless. Don't make same mistake I did. I thought it was King restaurant I was entering(same layout). To justify the 4100baht bill they do ring a bell while carrying the lobster...
