La Piccola Maria Pizzeria & Ristorante Italiano — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

I never leave negative reviews, but I would rate this place zero stars if I could.

Our experience was made terrible by the owner. Reading the other negative reviews, his regular behaviour seems to be in line with our experience (and he seems to be doing himself no favours with it).

This was, by far, the worst experience in our 2 months of travelling through Thailand and of COURSE it's not a Thai person who gave us this encounter!

The context: our 2 year old daughter was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at birth and needs to continually walk and move in order to improve the strength in her hips and legs. We had been in the restaurant for less than 5 minutes when she (along with her twin brother) had JUST started to climb the staircase when we were giving our order to the server.

They were not disrupting guests. They've been independently climbing stairs for over a year now without any incidents. We trust our kids on stairs 100% and were monitoring them closely.

Out of nowhere, the owner came charging in and yelled at us saying "no, it's not okay for your kids to climb the stairs"!

Excuse me???? Since when are you my children's parent?! You have no right speaking to us like this. Period. And with such audacity and ignorance towards who we are and what our situation is?? Honestly, how dare you.

It's one thing to politely come by our table and ask that our children not walk in certain areas (which we would gladly abide by)! But you did the opposite of that. And now? You get ANOTHER one star review for it.

To the owner (since I know you'll retort with another unprofessional lowball response, which by the way, I won't even bother reading): your behaviour was unacceptable and your reputation will catch up with you soon enough :)

We have made many friends with various couples and families at our current hotel and will be telling everyone NOT to be visiting this establishment. I'll also be posting about our experience on various Facebook groups to warn others. We're here for another 2 weeks and there seem to be many other Italian restaurants who I will happily give my money to, based on their level of...

We went all the way here from BangSak because of the reviews about the glutenfree pizzas. And we were not disappointed. We ordered both a glutenfree pasta carbonara and a glutenfree pizza and very pleased with both! So happy to find a place that offers glutenfree options and does it really good. Another customer that was there that day asked to have the pizzas a bit more baked, and if I would go back I would ask for the same. Their pizzas looked a bit more crispier which I would prefered too, but I was happy to hear that they accommodated the Customers request in this. Another big bonus was that the soda water was a huge bottle and only 20 bhat! The price I usually payed for soda water but only get half of the size. I was happily surprised with this! That was truly a great price for such a big bottle of soda water. The only little negative thing is that my husbands red wine was very cold... But I know some people like it like that, but mostly not us Europeans. But except for that tiny thing, everything was great! And if we ever come back to theese parts of Thailand we will visit...

Last night we ate here and I just have to say: First and for most the food was just great! And I am not talking about the food as an Italian restaurant in thailand but as an Italian restaurants in Italy. The service was just impeccable as we felt seen and served for the whole meal, nothing took more than a few moments. In addition to that, the kitchen closed while we were there and after we said we are done we asked for another pasta- even though it was closed they made it for us. It was so amazing they didn’t want to leave us hungry - and we were still craving for more but there was no space in our stomach.

The chat with the owner was so great, such a respectful intelligent person. Truly a special person that we are so happy we got to know.

And the prices were so reasonable!

The only bad thing is that we found it on our last night and couldn’t coma again!

If you beed a good carb craving brake from the pad thai this is definitely the place you want to go! I will be dreaming on the four cheese pasta♥️
