Monkey Bar khao lak — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

Dodgy bar. Walked in here cause we were up this way and was told they have live music. No band playing Monday 9th June 2025. All the staff were young and stoned and not friendly at all. Very surprising for a bar in Thailand as most bar staff will go out of their way to make you stay there and keep you drinking. I reckon they actually hated us!! The bar had a weird vibe about it and stunk of pot and was pretty grubby. The clientele who were either drinking or smoking weed there were all odd bods as well. We couldn’t wait to get out of there and only stayed for an extra beer cause the heavens opened up and it was pissing down. We thought better wait in here then get drenched out in the street. Not sure if we were there on a bad day for the staff, as the only reason I can’t give 5 stars would be because of them. The atmosphere was great because of the customers, loved the music and food was good but the staff I found rude and didn’t look like they wanted to be there. My daughter cut her foot and they couldn’t care to help and when I asked to order food the lady rolled her eyes. It was wasn’t busy so not sure what the issue would have been with all this. Truly the best bar in Khao Lak! Loved so much, there! Nice service, nice team, nice vibe, nice live-music and a tattoo-studio next door, if you want one. But only one suggestion for improvement! They should practice making awesome cocktails. They are okay. But man, it‘s a rocknroll bar and in bar‘s like that, you drink beer, whisky and gin. Haha
