This, without a doubt, stands out as one of the premier chicken rice establishments in all of Bangkok.
When a restaurant goes the extra mile to offer both a male and female version of the chicken in a local chicken rice dish, you know they're taking their craft seriously.
From the impeccably prepared white fish maw soup to the sublime textures of the rice and chicken, and the well executed and selected condiments, every aspect of this establishment checks all the right boxes.
Having resided in Bangkok for several years and explored various culinary delights worldwide, as a proud Singaporean who holds our chicken rice in high regard, I can confidently affirm that this place elevates the dish to a level that surpasses many establishments back in Singapore.
I genuinely sense the dedication, passion, and expertise infused into every aspect of this place.
Here's hoping that this culinary gem continues to flourish for generations to come.
For anyone in Bangkok, adding this to your must-visit list is a culinary adventure you won't want to miss.

Read moreArrived at 6.15pm at this chicken rice restaurant in Ari district. Not too many empty tables remaining. The restaurant is famous for its Betong style chicken rice and Betong fried noodles but has a lot of other items like fish maw soup, braised pork belly, vinegar pork trotters, etc. Easentially a Chinese restaurant from Betong, South Thailand.
Ordered the chicken rice and fried noodles. The chicken was lean and what surprised me was the crunchiness of the chicken skin. I kid you not. It’s not firm or jelly like. It’s crunchy. Although I have had crunchy chicken skin before in China, this is a first time for me in Thailand. Very nice! Rice was fragrant but not fluffy enough.
The Betong fried noodles used yellow alkaline noodles that we are so used to in Singapore and Malaysia. Nothing fantastic but still nice to eat with their XO sauce.
Total damage came up to be 770 baht. A bit pricey but you are paying for restaurant ambience and service plus specialty chicken.
Can give it a try if you have not eaten good chicken with...
Read moreThe chicken rice is alright but with such pricetag I expected to experience the real Baytong chicken which has its signature character of having the gelatin layer sandwich between the skin and meat. But the chicken here wasn't. The chicken texture was alright, a bit chewy and bouncy. But, if the restaurant goes for this kind of chicken, this is still so far from the best I had tried which cost me about similar price and that's in Japan which has a lot more living cost compare to Thailand.
The pork in red sauce was average; a tad too sweet to my liking and the aroma of Chinese rice wine should be more pronounced.
The noodle dish was by far the worst. It is normal for X.O. sauce to have a bit of fishyness since it is made from dried seafood particularly dried scallops. Anyhow, the one here was overbearingly fishy. The smell was almost like fermented shrimp paste (Kahpi). That was entirely unacceptable.
For such a price to provide this meager of a taste, highly...
