Subject: Feedback and Concerns about My Recent Stay
Dear Craftsman Management,
I hope this email finds you well. I recently stayed at the Craftsman Hotel in Bangkok for two days and would like to share my feedback regarding some aspects of my experience.
During my stay, I paid a deposit of 2,000 Baht. However, I found that the front desk did not provide sufficient information about the hotel's amenities, such as transportation services like the tuk-tuk. When I approached the tuk-tuk transportation provided by the hotel, I encountered difficulties as the drivers seemed unwilling to take me to destinations within a reasonable distance.
Additionally, I faced challenges securing a booking at Ikiga Massage, as it consistently appeared to be fully booked. On the day of my check-out, I requested to leave my two suitcases in the hotel for a couple of hours, but I did not receive a name tag from the front desk, unlike other customers, such as a Korean family.
I also observed disparities in customer service treatment, noting a distinction between how Korean, Vietnamese, and U.S. customers were handled. Such discrepancies are not in line with the expected standard of service for a 4-star hotel. I never ask for clean up or please make up room for me out side name tag room door but someone went to my room did it. Unprofessional
Moreover, I observed that all services in Thailand incur a 10% service tip and a 7% VAT. When I requested a copy of the settlement bills for my records, the front desk did not provide the necessary information.
I believe these issues contribute to a less-than-ideal experience for visitors, and I hope that you can address these concerns promptly. I appreciate your attention to these matters and look forward to hearing from you regarding the steps taken to enhance the overall guest experience at Craftsman...
Read moreThis place is a concept type of accommodation, a cross between a boarding house and an inn. It is located near the Chatuchak Night Market, tucked away mid-soi. There are 3 floors and maybe 1 roof? Would have to explore further. The Large and Medium rooms overlook the swimming pool and have a large and medium balcony respectively. The Small rooms do not have a balcony and cost less so that could be an option for some too. There are small rooms that might not have a window though I'm not sure.
This time I managed to get a room that was recessed toward a corner so there was more privacy. Downstairs there is a baby bar selling cocktails so you can have your drink or nightcap. Price is onwards of 200 baht per drink. Usually I just buy my drinks from 7-Eleven and consume them in the room. There is a restaurant area on the 1st floor that serves breakfast as well. The menu includes local Thai and Western cuisine and makes good for your sustenance if you escape here for a week. Just scan the QR code on your voucher given to you when you check in, and you can see the menu.
There's also a 7-Eleven around the corner so you can get your daily provisions. It's quite big and there are many items you can find there.
If you're going out I'm sure the staff on ground floor would be more than willing to help you call for transport, else you could just get a Grab.
The accommodation is very affordable for a nice spruced room and many locals book a stay here. The cleanliness I would rate about 4.5 / 5, generally very clean. Beds are soft beds with thick white quilt. The bathroom is a concept type bathroom with a huge tub. You must keep the bathroom door shut if you want to keep out the mosquitoes, but the bathroom is large as well.

Overall Experience: Pleasant and super comfortable — especially the bed, which was amazing and made sleeping really enjoyable.
Room: The room was clean, spacious, and exactly like the photos. I especially liked the cozy lighting — it gave the space a warm and relaxing feel.
There were just a few small issues: The metal drain in the bathroom could use some fixing or a bit of cleaning. One of the ceiling lights flickered softly. The TV didn’t have Netflix or YouTube, which was a bit of a letdown.
Location: Only slight downside is that it’s a bit far from central Bangkok. For example, it took around 35 minutes by Grab to places like Wat Arun and Wat Pho. So just plan your travel time accordingly.
Service: All the staff were friendly and welcoming. During check-in, I needed to store my luggage and they handled it smoothly. Every time I walked past, the staff would smile and even open the door for me — really thoughtful! I used housekeeping once, and they made my bed look brand new. Great service overall.
Facilities: Didn’t get to try the pool, but it looked just like the Google photos — very Instagrammable. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.
What really stood out to me was the gym — super impressive! It was spacious and well-equipped, and even had towels, hand sanitizer, and bottled water provided. Honestly didn’t expect that level of detail and care.
What Could Be Improved: Flickering room light Bathroom metal drain Add Netflix/YouTube to TV
Would I Return? Absolutely — 100% yes. Cool place, great service, comfy bed, and a gym that exceeded expectations. Would definitely...
