🌇 Bangkok Riverside Stunning Sunset and Night View Restaurant 🌃

We booked the table 15 days in advance before going there because we wanted to sit on the top floor with a full view of Wat Arun and the river. It was super busy when we got there. The waiter took us to the top floor, straight to our table closer to the river side and it had a clear view to Wat Arun. It was 5PM and it was still sunny. The sunset was not there yet. We sat there with the sunlight on our faces and like other people there, we opened our umbrellas. We expected sunset and we were early for sunset. It was so fun that everyone hid under the umbrellas. I ordered a Jai Yen Yen blend and when they brought it out in a 2 liter bottle. The color of the drink was so beautiful and it tasted lightly sweet with a green smell of butterfly pea flowers. Our first dish was mieng yong which was dried shredded pork, peanuts and sweet roasted coconut wrapped in cha plu leaves. It was presented in a shot cup and I felt like we would have a shot of starter. I never had raw cha plu leaves before and I didn’t think that I could make them raw. The old leaves had a stronger smell and I usually used them to make fried pork wrapped in cha plu leaves or used it like other herbs to add some notes to the soup or braised dishes. It was super delicious.Everything blended together perfectly. Another recommended dishes was Yum Crispy leaf fish. Fish was crunchy, herbs smelled awesome and a little spicy. They went very well with the sweet and sour sauce. The taste was boom. We liked it very much that everytime we talked about that day, it was the first thing we remembered. Another dish we tried was Tom Khloang Pla Nue Ain Krob. My taste buds weren’t back to normal so I still couldn’t eat too much spicy food. It didn’t mean that the food was not good, it was that I had some problems. The soup was spicy but I couldn’t stop eating it. It was so good. The mushrooms were fresh and crunchy. Like other Thai dishes, they used a lot of herbs and spices to make the soup smell like heaven and easier to deliver umami taste to people. We ordered some simple dishes with rice then finished our meal with Thai tea panna cotta. It was smooth and creamy with the taste of Thai milk tea and we loved it. Last time we tried Chang beer so this time, we tried Singha beer. After the first sip, I realized Singha beer was stronger than Chang beer and the taste of beer was stronger too. Still it was not as bitter as those other beers we tried in other parts of the world. I remembered when we had a free drink in Rome, we tried beer. It was not strong and the taste was bitter. It went very well with crispy onion rings we ordered as a side dish.At 5.30 PM, we didn’t have to use the umbrellas anymore. The sun slowly went down to the horizon. A cloud covered part of the sun and the light went down to the temple like it was light from heaven. As it was getting darker, the light was on and we got to see another image of Wat Arun.We finished our dinner at 7PM as the staff reminded us when they started cleaning the roof top area. I suddenly understood why they only allowed people to be there until 7PM. It was dark there and if they turned all the lights on, we couldn’t see Wat Arun as clearly as we wanted to see.

Have eaten at Supanigga Eating Room numerous times now, though always at their Thong Lo branch. Visited their Tha Tien location in Aug 2024 and again a few months later. This location is definitely better in terms of food, service, location and vibe. If you can, reserve their outdoor location (terrace/rooftop). If you want to sit closer to the river select "riverview" for an unobstructed view of Wat Arun. The food was great. Ordered the crab curry, tom yum goong (creamy), fried mushrooms and stir fried cabbage. The crab curry was fresh and didn't have any fishy taste,. though it's spicy and rich. The tom yum is more than enough prawns with some chunky bits of mushrooms and baby onions. The fried mushrooms are exquisite, ask for their spicy sauce and chopped chillies with fish sauce on the side. This adds an additional kick (if you can handle the spice). If you like to experiment a bit, dip the fried mushrooms in the spicy crab curry for the extra zing! For dessert had the coconut ice cream with mango sticky rice, which was okay. Though on a previous occasion had the Thai Tea Pannacotta, which is flavourful and delicious. They are always busy, so reserve online in advance. I'm assuming there is no parking around, as it's located at the end of a small street in Bangkok's old town. The outdoors can be loud with the boats moving, music and people talking. Though it's still easy to speak to your group at the table comfortably without shouting.

Really good food and great view! It gets a bit crowded so maybe lunch time is better but you do get an amazing view of the river and sights plus the sunset if you come in the late afternoon. Great place for couples, family and friends! The rooftop opens at 4:45 and we waited downstairs which is also nice. There are no service stools or hooks under the table for bags so if you’re a tourist and have been out shopping maybe drop off your things before coming. The staff had a bit of difficulty speaking English and kept reminding us no outside food or drinks because we had flasks and some food with us (which we did not intend to eat but rather we bought as gifts for back home) so the lady handling our table was not helpful instead of offering us a stool or to keep our bags (which were not massive at all) by the counter she was a bit strict which was off putting I pointed out we were there to eat and order both food and drinks from the restaurant but her English was rather limited so it could get frustrating like that. It could get a bit hot outdoors and crowded too so it this bothers you, then book an inside table which has an equally nice view. The food we ordered was amazing 😻 They also gave my mom a free pudding for her birthday and sang to her which was nice 😊

What a lovely place, and a lovely meal. We originally found this from the Michelin Guide and thought... why not try our first Michelin Guide restaurant in Thailand? It's close by to where we are staying and we can make a reservation. So we did. We got there earlier than our reservation slot and asked if they had room for us early. It was no problem. They led us up to the outside deck and we had a lovely view of the river!! This was a fantastic spot to have dinner. We ordered only 4 dishes in total. Moo Cha Muang, Isan Steak - Beef, and a vegetable dish Ka Lum Tod Si Eiw, along with dessert, Organic Coconut Ice Cream with Mango Sticky Rice. We didn't have to wait long for our dinner, but had a lovely view of Wat Arun Ratchawararam in the mean time. The sun was setting and we were treated to this lovely view. As for the food, the quality was excellent. We both extremely loved the Moo Cha Muang pork dish. It was so tender and so flavorful. Absolutely wonderful! The Isan Steak was also lovely, just not as notable as the pork. For dessert we had coconut ice cream on mango sticky rice. THIS is the way to have mango sticky rice. Forget it without the coconut ice cream. Thanks for the lovely dinner and we'll see you next time!

Stumbled across this restaurant when we got back from the Wat Arun pier boat. There were already quite a bit of people waiting and the way that you put yourself on the waitlist is that you check in with the host and he remembers your position in line. They were about three parties before us, but we got seated within 15 minutes. The location of this restaurant has a nice view of the pier and Wat Arun. We came around dinner time and it was nice to see the sunset. Drink wise, we ordered mocktails— the home passion (passionfruit and apple juice) and the calamansi fizz (calamansi and sparking water). For food, we ordered the appetizer sampler, pomelo salad, pad thai, and issan steak. The food all had a 1 chili pepper to indicate spicy level. I personally don’t have the best spice tolerant and 1 pepper is quite spicy. Taste wise, they all blended together and tasted pretty good, but the spice was kind of overbearing for it all. For all of our food and drinks, it ended up costing around 2000 THB. This place has been on the Michelin guide since 2018 til now and I can understand why. For the price point, location, and food quality, definitely worth checking out.
