Sometimes dreams come true. Having read lots of reviews of GOAT I booked the restaurant for an important dinner. Some reviews left the impression that things were bad whereas most praised it as heaven.

Simply put GOAT is for people who love exquisite cuisine and the next level of special / fine dining. If you just want the boring bland stuff of a place like Nobu, then this is not for you. Instead, if you want to see how a real one Michelin star restaurant (I guess it will be two stars soon) looks, feels and tastes, then GOAT is the place to be.

From the moment we arrived and were served an aperitif in the immaculate courtyard including shown parts of the self grown garden including how they ferment and create things like Scoby (not Scooby Doo) it was a tour of Thai cuisine.

The menu defined the 1462 km journey from Chang Mai in the north to the border with Malaysia in the south. All shown on the menu as a map like a tourist guide. My guest decided to have the soft pairing while I went for the white Wine pairing. The sommelier Gus gave a deep insight to special wines grown in Thailand which I never knew before.

Twice we had the honour of having the Owner and Mastermind behind GOAT, Mr Tan-Parkorn Kosiyapong explain the next course being served with his little pincer and that big friendly smile. It was like a surgeon telling you what will happen and how you will feel afterwards.

Having eaten over 100 Michelin stars in my life including NOMA, Alain Ducasse and others, this was by FAR the best of them all. Why? So unexpected, yet so authentic. And the most insane part is that the entire restaurant feels like an Art/hobby project. There is no chance they can make money with these prices against the ingredients used and staff on hand. I counted 14 staff (kitchen+floor) to serve max 20 guests. Most expensive bottle of wine on the card was a St Emilion for THB 9900.

Walking away that night I felt I had been paid (and maybe played) by getting such an experience for so little money (all in THB 20k for two guests).

There is one way to find out - and that is to come back! Meanwhile the plot thickensâ€Ķ.

Small request:

Aircon - a bit too strong. Please...

Everything here is simply on point – from the presentation, food, service, cocktails, to the atmosphere! A truly unique dining experience. Our host Kitty was exceptionally friendly and attentive, taking the time to explain every course in great detail. The homegrown mint tea was refreshing, and the kombucha was absolutely outstanding.

The restaurant is set in a quiet standalone house, exquisitely decorated with elegant Chinese-inspired touches. The courtyard’s lush greenery feels natural and calming, while the refined design creates a graceful atmosphere. Even more impressive, many of the organic vegetables and herbs used in the dishes are harvested from their own rooftop garden, adding freshness and authenticity to the meal. Neatly arranged cabinets of house-made pickles give a sense of order and care, reflecting the restaurant’s thoughtful philosophy.

The evening tasting menu is designed like a culinary map of Thailand, with each course showcasing premium ingredients from different regions of the country. Every dish brings out unique local flavors, turning the dinner into a true visual and gastronomic journey.

What makes Goat truly special is not only the inventive Thai-Chinese fusion, but also their commitment to the finest regional ingredients, presented with passion and precision. If you’re looking for an elevated fusion dining experience in Bangkok, Goat should absolutely be at the very top...

Extremely high level food. Lovely restaurant in a quiet alley. First level is the restaurant with an open kitchen and they have a bed&breakfast upstairs. I've eaten in many many yummylicious foods all the way from couple bucks street food all the way to near thousand meals so I've had my fair share of experiences. Now, this place makes it as one of the best in my life (I rarely write long reviews unless I feel it's special). The taste profile here is out of the world with lots of high level techniques and delicate balance of strong punchy flavours met with some delicate dishes weaved in between flavour town. There's lots of effort put into planning the menu (lots of written notes like a story) the flavour profile, and some laboursome techniques used on some dishes that I can taste. Amazing. Absolutely recommend this place for ANY foodie. Heard that chef tan is french trained I believe, and can see many elaborate techniques and flavour profiles produced. Again, if u love food, just eat here. It won't be a meal but more a lesson. Looking forward to a new menu and...
