It’s almost become a ritual for me to eat here upon returning to Thailand. So many memories. So many people. Increasingly so many years.
I miss their old location but am happy they are thriving here, on this corner off Ekamai Soi 3, facing a ritzy-enough condo.
There’s a oddly perennial stream of people being dropped off in vans — well-heeled Thais slumming it, Japanese businessman taking incessant smoke breaks between bites and drinks, and old white guys treating young, Issan dates (along with extended family). So really, this unpretentious place draws quite the mix.
The place is famous for their chicken, which I like, but I tend to stick to the northeastern fare. We’ll, I once did.
I’ve developed an addiction to the garlic-fried tilapia (clearly demonstrated by the fact I have almost no photos of other offerings!), but everything from their sun-dried beef to spicy Thai grilled pork salad (nam tok moo) are lovely.
They also serve one of my absolute favorite Thai dishes that gets less rotations on standard menus — Wing Bean Salad (Yum Tuapu). It’s delicious. Try it.
This is honesty a perfect place to take a friend, eat some great food, and experience friendly, excellent service.

**Ambience and service Sabaijai offers both indoor air-conditioned seating and an outdoor option. There are a lot of staffs but somehow ignore the customers. During my visit, the restaurant was notably crowded, somehow it’s very noisy ambiance.
Food Quality: While Sabaijai offers a variety of Thai dishes, the overall taste can be described as average, lacking the standout flavors expected from a local favorite.
Mixed Jim Joom: This hotpot dish had an intriguing mix, there are pork, shrimp, fish and squid and crab. all good except the crab with shells so difficult to eat without the cracking tool.
Fried Rice and Omelet: Both dishes were decent.
Namtok Moo: This dish leaned heavily towards sourness and salty without achieving a balance flavour.
Signature Grilled Chicken: While flavorful, the grilled chicken was inconsistently cooked, with some parts, such as the drumstick and breast,...
Read moreSabaijai is hands down one of the best places in Bangkok for grilled chicken, sticky rice, and somtum! I’ve been a regular at their restaurant, but this time I decided to order delivery, and I am beyond impressed.
The food arrived warm, fresh, and full of flavor, just as if it was served at the restaurant. The grilled chicken was perfectly tender, the sticky rice was soft and fragrant, and the somtum had the perfect balance of spice, sweetness, and tanginess.
What makes Sabaijai truly exceptional is their wide variety of menu options. Beyond these favorites, they offer many other dishes, all prepared with premium ingredients at very reasonable prices. Every bite reflects the care and quality they put into their cooking.
The service is also outstanding—friendly, professional, and attentive. Whether dining in or ordering delivery, Sabaijai delivers an authentic Thai culinary experience.
If you’re looking for amazing Thai food, excellent service, and unbeatable value, Sabaijai is a must-try. Highly recommended!
