Sukishi at Blueport in Hua Hin offers a pleasant and contemporary setting for Korean BBQ and Japanese fusion dining. Located on the G floor, the restaurant is easy to spot with its illuminated signage and attractive product displays at the entrance. The space inside is bright, modern, and efficiently laid out, with booths that offer decent privacy and well-maintained ventilation hoods above each tableâessential for a grill-heavy menu. The decor, with its wooden tones, plant-lined shelves, and copper exhaust fans, creates a clean and inviting ambiance that balances functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The service was prompt and courteous. Staff explained the menu clearly and attended to us frequently without being intrusive. The side dishes (banchan) arrived quickly and included the expected staples: kimchi, marinated spinach, pickled radish, and seaweed salad. These were well-prepared and generously portioned. We also received a refreshing glass of cold barley tea and a complimentary shot of sweet corn milkâan unexpected touch that added a nice contrast to the savory starters.
The main course, featuring grilled Wagyu beef, was served on a hot skillet. The beef itself was marbled and tender, with a pleasant balance of fat and lean cuts. It was accompanied by sautÃĐed mushrooms, scallions, and a delicate garnish of shredded daikon and parsley. A bowl of warm white rice and crisp lettuce leaves made it easy to assemble ssam-style bites, and the dipping saucesâone rich with sesame and soy, the other spicier and fermentedâadded depth to each bite. The quality of ingredients was evident, and the grill flavor came through nicely even without us cooking the meat ourselves.
What distinguishes Sukishi from other Korean BBQ places in town is its hybrid concept that blends Japanese and Korean elements, not only in the branding but also in the range of dishes and set menus. Although the name might initially lead one to expect sushi-focused offerings, the real draw here seems to be the grill experience.
Still, the prices feel justified given the quality of the beef, the variety of banchan, and the polished dining environment. Sukishi also offers retail packs of sauces, snacks, and frozen goods near the entrance, which may appeal to repeat customers or those wanting to replicate the experience at home.
Overall, the meal was satisfying and flavorful without being overly heavy. While purists might prefer more traditional Korean BBQ joints, Sukishi at Blueport succeeds in offering an accessible and enjoyable version with a modern twist, ideal for casual diners or families seeking a slightly upscale but unpretentious...
Read moreWe visited this buffet restaurant and chose the option that included Wagyu. However, we only received the Wagyu after pointing out that we hadnât gotten it. The staff gave us different explanationsâsome said it was sold out, while others mentioned a digital system error. This inconsistency was frustrating.
The restaurant offers good value for money, but the service needs improvement. The staff spoke very little English, making communication difficult, and we were never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks despite having ordered them. While the food was decent, better service and clearer communication would greatly enhance...
Read moreI often dine at Sukishi at BluPort with friends for dinner. We get the Gold Level buffet package at 599 Baht per person.
The overall food quality is good and the service is friendly too. Still, we don't really like the gimmicky robot that delivers the food to our table.
I think the grill set up works best for two or three people. Any more than that and you are fighting for grill space.
Currently, they close at 8:00 pm, so start eating by 6:30 pm.
All in all, this restaurant is good for all you can eat Korean style barbecue.
Sorry that I forgot to...
