I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Islander Rawai during my trip to Phuket, and I must say it was an absolute delight. The main highlight of my visit was their Sunday roast, which was simply incredible.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a friendly smile from the owner, Mark. He made sure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Mark's welcoming nature and attentive service added a personal touch to my visit, making me feel like a valued guest.
Now, let's talk about the Sunday roast. The Islander Rawai definitely knows how to do it right. The roast was cooked to perfection, with tender and succulent meat accompanied by a mouthwatering selection of roasted vegetables. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, leaving me craving for more with each bite.
The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that no one left the table feeling unsatisfied. On top of that, the presentation of the dish was visually appealing, making it even more enjoyable to indulge in. The attention to detail and quality ingredients used in the Sunday roast truly set it apart from other places I've tried.
Overall, my trip to The Islander Rawai was a memorable one. The Sunday roast exceeded my expectations, and Mark's warm and welcoming nature made it even more special. If you find yourself in Phuket, I highly recommend visiting The Islander Rawai for a delicious meal and a wonderful...
Read moreI visited Islander Rawai about six weeks ago, and it was a fantastic experience. Tucked away in the heart of Rawai, this lively bar and restaurant combines a relaxed, welcoming vibe with excellent service and great food. Whether you're dropping in for a cold beer, watching live sports, or enjoying a full meal, it ticks all the boxes.
The menu is varied, offering a solid mix of Thai and Western dishes. I tried the fish and chips and a green curry — both were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Their drinks are well-priced, and the cocktails were surprisingly good for a casual sports bar.
What really stood out was the atmosphere. There’s a strong community feel here, with a good mix of locals and travelers. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to make you feel at home. Live sports are shown on multiple screens, so it’s a great spot to catch a match without missing a beat.
If you're in the Rawai area and looking for a place to eat, drink, and unwind, Islander is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be going back next time I’m in Phuket — it’s the kind of place that leaves a...
Read moreAbsolutely brilliant place to eat, drink and watch sporting events. A really great place to while away a few hours. The food is amazing, personal recommendation is the home made pies both the savoury and sweet. Sunday dinners are fantastic and a welcome reminder of home when you've been travelling for 7 months. The bar staff are excellent, attentive, friendly and welcoming. A really big thank you to Mark and Koi for looking after my sister and I every time we visited, we really felt like regulars and friends from our first visit to the bar. I can honestly say it's the best bar we visited whilst staying in Rawai and that's all down to the great owners and the staff they employ. The only downside was my visa ran out and I had to leave. See you all again...
