We came because of the good reviews but were disappointed. The massaman curry is adjusted to the tastebuds of tourists, not the authentic local version The prices in this restaurant are not low like some reviewers claim. They are much higher than those in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and most parts of Thailand. Make no mistake you are paying tourist prices here The portion size is miserable. I ordered a vegetarian Massaman curry. For 120 THB, it came with a lot of water and a few shreds of vegetables. Total rip-off. Despite targeting tourists, the waitress/cook does not understand English. The Massaman curry came with chicken, pork or vegetarian option. I ordered the vegetarian option. She served me the curry and an extra plate of vegetables for 80 THB. Forget about expecting her to understand a simple order. If you order the chicken option, she'd serve you an extra plate of chicken at additional cost too. This place is expensive for a low end local place. Avoid...

We ate at Mew's Kitchen at lunch today and absolutely loved it. It has such a homely feel to it and you can browse through the secondhand books in her book shop next door while you wait.

We were served homestyle Thai food on the side of the bustling road and we absolutely loved it. She was also very accommodating for our vegan diets and even gave us recommendations on what options on the menu were the tastiest when made vegan.

I opted for the pad thai while my partner went with the vegie stir fry - both were equally delicious and we both agreed that Mew's is a favourite from all the street eats we've had in the past week.

I had the most amazing time here. We had ordered takeout from our hotel, but it was delayed, so I ventured out to find a snack, and found Mew's Kitchen. We ate the Spring Rolls back at our hotel, and canceled our order and went back to Mew's because those rolls were delicious!

Mew is awesome. Her husband was there, and he kept us company and we shared in some great conversations. The entire time her delicious cooking was filling the air with the smells of authentic Thai cuisine. I can't wait to go back to...
