RIM TA LAY SEAFOOD NAI YANG BEACH — Restaurant in Sakhu

Avoid, unless you enjoy spending time in the bathroom! I don’t normally review, but feel obligated to share our experience

Appalling BBQ seafood platter - crab was RAW apart from the claws, snapper was part cooked and “slimey” and the prawns, lobster and mussels were barely warm with zero flavour (only 1 tiger prawn served despite 2 shown in the menu).

We stopped eating when we found the raw crab. We complained to staff who offered a 10% discount, increased to 15% after 15 mins of arguing (bear in mind only 50% of the meal was edible).

Have had to cancel our tour tomorrow due to suspected food poisoning.

We were a group of 6 staying at The Slate so this place was right outside the hotel, and we must have eaten there 4 or 5 times. The food was amazing and the staff were lovely, plus the location on the beach was spectacular. On the last night of our holiday we had a proper feast, with whole steamed fish, huge grilled tiger prawns, crab, Tom yum soup and loads more, all washed down with superb cocktails. Right behind Slate resort. We stepped out after noticing that within the resort boundaries it was a few degrees warmer and no one of the cool evening breeze from the ocean could be felt. The atmosphere was very relaxing, the servers are all very attentive and helpful. We ordered pepper chicken and rice in pineapple with Phuket Paradise and a beer for my husband!
