Been visiting Naiyang beach for 29 years when I first visited there were two hotels pearl village and the crown naiyang one bar and one restaurant on the beach absolute paradise .over the years I have seen dramatic changes some good some bad .my recent visit Oct/Nov 2024 there are many lovely pop up restaurants on the beach all close by 10 pm on government say so. all serving a variety of food and drink Thai food etc . There are other restaurants which are permanent structures which stay open later some have live music .there are plenty of shops massage shops etc etc Bars to watch sport etc and drink late if you like the beach is beautiful and swimming is safe and the water is warm . There's a local market at 4 pm few days a week near the temple in easy walking distance from the beach worth a visit Also nearbye is the sirinath national park .Naiyang has changed dramatically since I first visited now I think they should stop and think what is happening to this beautiful place too much construction.its time they should stop and think what is being done to this place the place is overun by russian people I still visit to see many thai friends I have made over the years and still...

Sad to see the decline of this once beautiful village and beach post Covid. The police turn a blind eye to the drug dealer running his beach cafe and sun lounger rental in the trees on the Beach 50m south of the beach massage spa. He has (in total violation of Thai law) made a permanent structure on the beach using surf boards and drift wood - I think he lives there, and blasts his awful and very loud music to all the beach. Clearly the police are ignoring this violation. The once idyllic village is now a Russian enclave. Rammed with them and their noisy, arrogant and unruly children and it seems that they all have children. The change in the demeanour of the local shop keepers is sad. They now view all foreigners as thieves until they recognise that you are from Europe, then their smiles return. The area is under massive building projects and as overwhelmed as the village, restaurants and shops are now it will soon be a thousand times worse once the thousands of condos are completed that are currently under construction. Prices are already far in excess of where they used to be - even a Thai...

After decades of dumping trash into the sea, one would be hard-pressed to find a Thai beach that is not affected by plastic junk and remnants from the fishing boats. They have done a commendable effort of cleaning up main Nai Yang Beach of garbage and the oil spill that happened in early August 2023.

Due to its very gradual incline and gentle waves, it is a safe beach for swimming and lazing around. During low tide, the waves retreat about 20 m out. Some days, there are more deposits onto the beach, like coral fragments, and the sand is coarser. Other days, it is soft fine sand with less detritus. Add the unstable weather conditions during the rainy season, things at Nai Yang Beach may vary wildly.

It has a lot of sun beds and restaurants lining the beach. Jack’s, the first restaurant at the northern end of the restaurant row, does happy hour earlier than the rest. It’s a great vantage point to watch the waves and planes taking off and landing to the north. There are also convenience stores, massage parlours, a pharmacy and market close by, making it a great place to spend an entire day...

What you need to know about airplane watching in Phuket ↓ (Save for later) -The best spot is at Mai Khao Beach. -The best time to see them is November-April. The planes will be landing over the beach instead of taking off over the beach. This has to do with the winds & monsoon season (that’s all I know, I’m not a scientist). -Go early in the morning to avoid crowds. -If you see the back end of a LARGE plane about to take off, RUN THE F AWAY!!! The jet blast will be painfully powerful, sand & rocks will be thrown at you and it hurts, just trust me on this one. Also, any loose items will be blown into the ocean. 😅 -Once you’ve had enough airplane watching, head over to Naiyang Beach and enjoy the gorgeous scenery!! A quiet beach within a National Park. It is very close to the airport and you can see planes landing and departure all the time. Cozy and family atmosphere. Very good bathing ability. Great for exercising. There are many options for eating on the beach at a very affordable price, especially at local food trucks. Some hotel options with higher prices (if you are looking for a budget hotel, don't look at this beach, at least not close to the beach). It has many massage options and restaurants. There is a mini market that can save you from paying high prices. The sunset on this beach is also very beautiful. If you like water sports you will like this beach too. During the wave season in Thailand, this is a beach popular with surfers because it has some good wave options (beach break and point break). There is a public bathroom option, which I think is wonderful. I recommend the visit!
