Sea Almond Chilled Restaurant & Cafe — Restaurant in Sakhu

Atmosphere is nice, but the service and prices were very very disappointing. We ordered a lot, we were 5 people but ordered for like 8-10 people, although very costly we didn’t mind, we came for a good time, most of the dishes were okay (hoped for better for the price but it was passable, as we said it was for the atmosphere and having a good time) - one of the dishes was really bad (some beef dish) we didn’t complain. We did not complain, but the waitress herself came to ask how everything is so we mentioned it and asked if she could maybe change it or at least take it off the bill, we didn’t eat it, we just tasted it. We were ignored first as it seemed, made us feel confused cause why come ask in the first place, then later when we asked, she came and she said they wont do anything about it. The manager kept texting on his phone as if he didn’t care, a little discussion happened. We were confused because why would you ask us then.. the staff made us feel fooled somehow. In short: the atmosphere is really nice, the food is ok but costly, the service was strange.

Oh btw, one of the guys of our group was shirtless because it’s at the beach. They didn’t tell us it’s not allowed, made us sit, made us order lotsss of drinks and food and once everything was served they said it’s not allowed to sit without a shirt.. we had no shirt, if we knew we wouldn’t have sat down in the first place of course because we would respect the requirements. We had to find a shirt. We still didn’t complain at that point btw…

Don’t be alarmed at how much I paid. I ordered a LOT of food. I’m not counting my margaritas from last night in the price. Came in for margaritas last night and they were top notch. The servers stayed so close so you don’t ever have to look for someone when you want something. Came in for dinner tonight. Got a ton of stuff. Veggie spring rolls that were so greasy, the grease ran down my face. They fell apart in my hand. Yuk. The sauce was amazing, though. Chicken Panang Curry (absolute perfection! The coconut was so smooth and rich, combined with the spices… wow! Amazing! I asked for medium spicy & that’s exactly what I got!), Pad Thai prawn (I LOVE that you put tofu in there. I actually wanted just tofu, so now I know you have tofu, that’s what I’ll get next time. Perfect on the flavor, though I wanted medium spicy & this has zero spice), & two sodas. All-in-all, this place definitely is a win & I would recommend it to anyone. Just work on those spring rolls. In case you don’t know, there’s a 3% charge if you use a debit or credit card, so it’s good to pay with cash. I definitely recommend this place. I’m a solo female traveler & this place is full of couples, but they treated me like a princess. Khap Khun Kha!...
