If you’re visiting Hatyai, Chokdee Dim Sum is definitely one of those breakfast spots that locals and tourists alike recommend, so I decided to give it a try. It was a good experience overall, and I can see why it’s so popular.

The staff here are friendly and attentive, even though the place was quite busy during breakfast hours. Service was quick, and they patiently guided me through the dim sum selection process, which is a nice touch if it’s your first time there.

There are two dining areas – the main store and a newer, more spacious dining area just opposite. I chose to sit in the main store, as it is closer to the dim sum counter and has a more authentic, bustling atmosphere. The main store feels a bit more “classic,” while the newer section seems to cater to larger groups and tourists.

The price is reasonable and in line with what you would expect for a well-known dim sum place. The portions are small, but they match the price, which makes it easy to order and try a variety of dishes without wasting food.

Taste-wise, the dim sum itself was decent – I would say it was just ordinary compared to other places I have tried, but still enjoyable. I also ordered their Bah Kut Teh, which was slightly salty for my liking, though taste can be very subjective and others might find it just right.

Overall, Chokdee Dim Sum is a nice breakfast experience if you are in Hatyai. The variety of dishes, reasonable pricing, and lively atmosphere make it worth a visit. Just be sure to go early, as the place can get really crowded...

This is a very popular Dim Sum restaurant in Haadyai, in Southern Thailand.

The restaurant is popular among the local population and tourists.

This restaurant is big and has two sitting areas.

The restaurant operates two sessions. The morning session serves breakfast and brunch. After a break, the restaurant serves the dinner session.

There is usually a queue present most of the time. The restaurant is ran very efficiently and the queue tend move along very smoothly and fast.

This restaurant serves a wide range of Dim Sum. Most of the dim sum are good and prepared with a Thai taste. There a a few unique dishes available. The Sweet Corn with Inoki Mushrooms and Sweet Corn with Pork are rather interesting. Recommended to try out.

Bak Kut Teh from the neighbour shop is also available here.

The usual dim sum restaurant drinks are available.

Service is fast and reasonable.

Cleanliness is acceptable.

Prices are reasonable.

Handicapped patrons on wheelchairs can patronize this...

Amazing dimsum place, definitely not overhyped. There's still quite a queue even at 10am. You order by taking a table number and a tray from the stuff, and pick any dimsum you want from their wide range of selection. They will steam it and sent it to your table. They have multiple stores with seating area around the block, some seatings stores are opposite the road. They also have a bakkutteh store which I highly recommend to give it a try. The soup is a bit different from what we usually have in Malaysia, but still very delicious. Best part is definitely their pork cuts inside, super tender and soft, literally melts in your mouth. Highly recommend getting more of their Thai specialty dimsum instead of classic ones you usually see in Malaysia for a more unique experience. Some highlights includes the steam cob and meat dimsum, various types of siewmai, and glutinous rice chicken. Their har gao is a flop tho, dry and tasteless, can skip it. Recommended.
