I am a 24 year old South African woman. While I was dishing food up, a man confronted me (he did not work there) about me wearing shoes. I immediately apologized and was about to walk outside to take my shoes off. He proceeded to shout "now" and hit me hard on my arm. I was in shock and told my partner what had happened. We spoke to the owner and I took her to the man who hit me. They laughed and called me crazy. I asked for camera footage but the restaurant did not have. The man who hit me is a local who goes to the restaurant frequently and therefore all the staff took his side and dismissed my claim as he provides them with money. They continued to stare and laugh at me while i gathered my belongings to leave. As I left, the owner told the customers that I was "crazy". I am absolutely shocked and traumatized. A regular that was dining there very rudely asked my girlfriend to remove her shoes before proceeding to punch her on the arm and then laugh at her afterwards. After complaining to the staff, they sided with their friend/regular customer and completely dismissed our complaint as well as called us crazy.
